Getting Ugly In Phl

PHL is understaffed and does not have enough equipment and has been that way for over a year.

Does X-Mas Meltdown mean anything to you?

Thanks for your reply...although that won't happen anytime soon.....

Cooperative problem solving is not management blantantly violating a contract.

Can't you understand that?

Management for the past several years has declared war on the employees.

Does the words "Airbus Arbitration" mean anything to you?

That management is basically gone. IMO you need to give this management a chance and you aren't seeming to try and meet them halfway.

They are out of bankrutpcy, they cant use that trick at the moment.

HP_FA.

Everett Al Hemenway who was one of the people behind the airbus outsourcing is the Newly Merged Company's VP of Labor Relations, nothing will change.

all options are negotiatable in the room.......take it or leave it but its the way its done in the business world.
got a suggestion, lets talk.maybe for the first time in U history, doug will be willing to faithfully work with the unions.
how many times do you get bit by a rattlesnake before you learn?

hp,

No disrespect to you...but let us know when your CEO decides to permit finishing the f/a section 6 negotiations with your group.

I believe you guys hit a "brick wall" with your sec. 6 and Dougie has no intention of closing your deal.

If he does, I will definitely have a different opinion about him than I do today. <_<

You still don't get it. As of Sept 27th you don't work for that airline anymore. All of the contracts should have been re-written in BK to reflect the new reality of the new U. Old stereotypes of labor relations do not apply. Somethings will be better, some worse. If you of all people aren't willing to cut the head off that old dragon, then who is? Is there something about the Old U that is worth jeopardizing the future for?

Premeditated nostalgia, maybe you can plead it down to jobslaughter.

delldude.....with all due respect, I would not say the first time in U history.....You don't remember Colodny????.....

Yes everyone does still work for US, nothing has changed, the concessionary contracts ratified in bankruptcy remain in effect.

Management is the one violating the contracts, not the rank and file workers.

Can you not understand that?

Luvn.....delldude is right on with this quote.............It was a LONG, what, 10 past years of extreme turbulance working for this company....no pun intended, of course.....the past years have been pure hell for many current and former emplyees at U, and I don't think you, quite frankly, see the whole picture......as dell said, if you faired better.....great......but also, be prepared for what may follow...

It's time to come back to PIT boys. Dump PHL!

It's comments like the above which illustrate the following:
1. You appear to have little understanding about this business.
2. You appear to have even less understanding about O&D
3. You are proposing a plan which would very likely lead to Chapter 7.
4. You more than likely got hit hard as part of Pittsburgh downsizing and now need to vent your anger on a public message board with emotional, irrelevant comments.

Suggest you provide us with a detailed plan, including the financial benefits (don't forget to include a Landing Fee analysis) as to how you would Dump PHL and move all of it's traffic, including International to PIT and turn the airline profitable. Also, why not send your Plan to Doug Parker.

This really is a fascinating thread to watch....

On one side are, I suspect, 2 subgroups:

- the "management always right/union always wrong" crowd. Their belief seems to be that whatever management does must be for a good reason so unions & contracts aren't worth worrying about.

- the "we know you've been abused but this is a new day and a new management team" crowd. They just can't understand why the "used & abused" folks can't make an instant adjustment. (HP-FA, I'm a little surprise that you're in this group. How's your instant adjustment to the new reality of AFA DOH merger coming along?)

On the other side are the mirror opposite subgroups:

- the "Union right/management wrong" crowd. They're just looking for any excuse to show how bad management is.

- the "we've been used and abused crowd. All they want is for the new management to show that they're not just like the old management. A little patience goes a long way with this crowd.

Hey Newbie, (defender)

Whose, "provide us"? Who are you defending?

I guess the rumors are true. Most AWA mangement is on these boards. Hmm, I'm impressed.
