If he is pissing off both side I see that as a good sign. So far there are no alternatives being offered by the republicans or independents.
We still have 11 months to go so someone could.pop up out of the wood work but that seems ulikely given the way elections are run these days.

What's assinine is making the comparrision he made. It took ten years to develop Purhdue Bay up on the North slope. I'm not sure who's more stupid. Newt, or the people who cheer him on without realizing what's involved. Maybe those people should look up what our daily oil consumption is and then look up how long it will take to develop those wells and how much they will get out of them.
Maybe you ought to.

So how many millions of barrels of oil will we have to produce to become self sufficent?
We can't become self sufficient because you stated it just takes to friggin' long to get a well up and running, so whats the use? Your logic deems we depend on countries that hate and despise us and someday soon will make your logic look rather odd....regardless.

You mean Canada and Mexico? Because that's where the majority of our imported oil comes from.
