There isn't a F/A union to bust. I hope that if there is an election the IAM gets defeated even by a narrow margin and is barred for several years. After all perhaps the signatures (if they are even valid) are from people who just wanted the invasive and aggressive organizers to back off.

If th IAM does ultimately get in DL should take a hardline negotiating approach and push for industry changing reforms things like requiring five year contracts for F/As like many foreign carriers have. After all DL is a very innovative company. By taking this stance it would prolong negotiations (keeping the IAM out of dues while bearing considerable expenses) and send a message to other groups on the property.

Also worth mentioning along the lines of IAM corruption IP Buffenbargers son, Andy Buffenbager had a six figure salary job created for him as a special assistant to the International President (his father). Why should DL people be paying for his son? He never worked a day in an IAM shop yet enjoys a cushy position at the Union. Sito Pantojas brother also works for the grand lodge.

On a separate note, coupled with a pay raise for all employees on April 1st, Ready Reserve employees will now receive Paid Personal Time (PPT). Every 30 hours worked earns 1 hour of PPT for a maximum of 40 hours per year. Coupled with this the Ready Reserve program will now require (effective today) that RRs work a minimum of 600 hours (up from the current 300). The maximum of 1,300 per year stays the same. Seasonal Ready Reserves however are only required to work a minimum of 150 hours per year.
