Please try again.

Why don't you address that Bob conflates sh**ty leadership in one LL/DL with the broader labor movement?

Josh

Oh, Bob was made well aware of the irony in his "alliance." Kinda fun watching him fall all over himself trying to backtrack, but kinda sad at the same time...

Meanwhile, back on topic: just sent in more cards. Hearing the same from across the system. Some nice momentum to round out the year...

I hear the FAs filing right after the new year, and hopefully the momentum will carry ACS to file shortly after.

Well I guess once again Sito is going to be wrong:

Labor Gains Ground in the South and Eyes a Delta Contract

The Association of Flight Attendants tried three times to organize Delta flight attendants -- in 2002, 2008 and 2010. It failed each time, even after the 2010 merger brought 7,000 unionized Northwest flight attendants into the bargaining unit. Pantoja said a group of Delta flight attendants contacted the IAM in 2012, asking to be organized.

"They came to us on their own, with several thousand signed cards," he said. "Now we have over 300 organizers. I believe that by the end of the year we will file." The London-based International Transportation Workers Federation is helping IAM reach out to flight attendants who fly overnight in Europe, he said.

Delta spokeswoman Kate Modolo said Delta employees prefer the direct relationship they have with their leaders. "Delta people have received eight companywide pay increases of 3% or more each since 2007 -- something no other airline, including those with IAM-represented workgroups, has matched," Modolo said.

If the IAM prevails organizing the DL F/As they will have approximately 20k dues payers.  At the time of the decertification, the IAM had approximately 9400 PMNW passenger service and ramp service employees.  So it will be a net gain for the IAM, considering the F/A dues and wages are generally higher than the other classifications but consider that they had nothing from 11/2010 until any CBA is ratified and they can begin collecting dues.

I do always find it interesting that DL 143 faded away and their remaining members at Alaska went over to 142.  What happened to all the leaders at 143?

Josh

Josh  I believe the whole Kip has awoken many to seeing what the clowns running DL does and I believe that is what will help propel ACS to become union   and that's on top of the fact that while DL has more ML at more cities  it does not mean the entire ramp is DL      parts of it is outsourced.  Now why is that?     bec that's what the Walmart airline does since they don't have a union

Robbed I recall Kip unsuccessful ran against Depace in the 143 district elections. Kev may recall the exact date but I want to say it was circa 2003-2004. He was a militant leader at LL 1833 in MSP.

Militancy is a good thing. Who wants to elect a milquetoast?

It's nice to see you've dropped any pretense of this being just a hobby for you, though...

Red Lion hotel? With the vast resources the IAM has at their disposal they couldn't go for the Hilton or Marriott or something? Why don't they hold these events in the same caliber of properties the executive council stays at when they travel for Union business?

According to the Unite Here Union website this isn't even a union property.
