American Eagle Flight Attendants will now be allowed to jumpseat on AA aircraft starting later this month. What a change in policy. IF only AMR had not taken the extra jump seat out of the EMB's so AA flight attendants could use it.

AMFAMAN said:Well AA AMT's are now going on 4 years of contractual negotiated cockpit jumpseat authorization for personal travel on AA and still have not been able to use it. Grievances submitted to the twu still sit unheard. The compAAny blames it on the pilots not wanting us up there and the union blames it on the FAA. So who knows what the story is. Interesting thing was that this negotiated item in 2001, it added significant value $$$ to the contract per the twu. When asked what value it would carry if we gave it back during the concessions, the twu answer was $0.00.

LD max said:The first few RJ's had a Jumpseat in the very back by the lav. It could be stowed in behind the last row of seats in flight (so people could get to the lav). the only reason I heard for taking them out and not using this option on future orders was that it would put the seating to 51 seats on the Emb 145. You need a second qualified FA for a/c over 50 seats. That sounds kinda fishy...
