What's new

I have had enough of the Teamsters!

I was a member of 141M as well - during the midterm wage adjustments the ramp and stores ( D141 )agreed to their approx 3% increase - the mechanics D141M held out for and got 6% - the IAM used the mechanic win as leverage for the ramp

As far as officers the PDGC and AGCs were appointed - the mechanics didn't get to elect them

So you stop with the misinformation
They were previously elected when we were all 141M then had to run when their terms ran out.
Tell the whole story, not just the pieces that fit your narrative.

In comparison I'd still take the previous language that the ibt gutted from our CBA - yes AMFA language

We had lines of work and shops protected by name. In SFO alone we had 3 heavy C chk lines - A320 - B757 - B777. Now those chks are gone, and we do nothing higher than an A chk.

In December we will get an industry wage adjustment, so I'll thank AA & DL for that

Ok if I got this right and I think my eyes are just tired? Did the IBT actually negotiate an Industry reset (LOA#29) that is EVERY 12 months even after you start negotiating? 2% above the average every year even if you are negotiating for many years?

Chit man if that’s true you have one HELL of an agreement there.

If AMFA never had the chance to negotiate a normal Section 6 how can you say any language you had was their doing?

Because AMFA did negotiate - just not under section 6 - the protections were negotiated in exchange for the concessions the company demanded in bankruptcy

Yea the IBT is ultimately owned by the IBT International so they’ll also push things in you that you might not want but I also firmly believe the AMFA is owned by the Law Firm in Upstate NY. It’s not owned by the membership as they portray they are.

Believe what you wish about SSMP, I and others obviously disagree - here at UAL, the ibt has/is pushing changes the membership doesn't want, and the membership did/will take action - If AMFA and their legal can help prevent the hijacking of our medical & pension, and its what a majority of the membership wants, they will have it.

We will see -

Also the loss of all that work came after 9/11 and with all the Concessions and Bankruptcies that came after.

No that work was protected IN BANKRUPTCY - the work was lost after the teamsters came on the property - AFTER bankruptcy was over

BTW do you know how many AMT’s and “Related” you have?

Haven't checked in awhile but I believe between 8-9k maybe more, UAL is hiring at the moment

If D141-M was truly separate then a new district should have a NEWLY ELECTED PDGC and AGC's - you're saying they needed to finish their terms, so by your own accounting THEY WERE NOT ELECTED

We the mechanics were promised separation not more of the same

We were NOT separate from D141

You're not imagining things - its real

Thats why I thanked AA & DL ... without those wage increases the language does nothing.

I’m curious. You’re just about to start negotiations and yet somehow you’re hearing that the IBT want to try peddling their Pension and Team Care at you again? Where are you getting that information from? I mean it does sound kind of strange for something like that to come out before you even start talking with the Company.

IMO I’m sure the IBT will anyway but has the IBT started sending mailers to peoples homes?

Last time I counted at AA was close to a year ago and we had 15,502 at that time.

Ok then am I missing something here? It’s INSANE that UAL would agree to keep giving you contractual raises even after you start negotiating. What motivation do you guys have to ever have to agree to a deal if you already know you’re going to go above everyone else every year? DL always pretty much matches AA wages every year so now you just go 2% above that anyway.

Sure right now inflation is way up there and for M&R you’re the next up to bat but you don’t have to sweat too much.

Sorry but I got to give the IBT a 👏 for that language.

They've already started negotiations - UAL started early with our pilots too

No the ibt hasn't sent anything to our homes, nor would they if they're angling for our medical/pensions - last negotiations the membership signed a petition overwhelmingly and sent it to both the company and the ibt - it shut it down in negotiations

The info was supposedly coming from negotiators out of the east coat locals which is why initial post on this thread was asking what Erick had heard - I am still looking for names.

With all the traffic on social media and the floor itself, if it isn't true, one would think the ibt would put a simple news brief out to settle rumors the ibt IS NOT seeking these things in negotiations

So far nothing -

While Money is nice, and I will take it, its not just about money

The company is probably more than willing to throw us 2% here or there when they don't have to talk about anything else ... scope ... medical ... pension ... etc

additionally the language is only good so long as AA and DL continue to raise the bar ... its not bad language, its just designed to placate, during extended negotiations we almost always have

We most certainly were separate from 141.

Different officers, different office locations, different LM2s, different negotiating committees, different elections, etc.

Do I need to go on?

We didn't get newly elected officers you already admitted that, negotiating committees were clearly linked despite being "separate"

District 141m was a farce - a pathetic attempt at separation the mechanics wanted in AMFA that the iam tried to fake.

Say it isn't true and deny it all you wish, the mechanics saw through it

No way would the IBT or any Union for that matter shoot down publicly their own particular offerings. Can you imagine how that would look to the people who are currently enrolled. The IAM would never undermine the IAMPF either and both the TWU and APFA at AA offer supplemental insurances through certain insurance companies. I’m not putting any of them down particularly because they do provide value to people even if others find more value in other things.

But anyway let’s hope it is all rumors because I remember you guys REALLY REALLY told them that you DID NOT want it and I doubt enough of your minds have changed that it should be rolled out again.

The last AMFA negotiations at SWA was 7 years. That’s I think the longest of all the Airline Negotiations I can remember. And all they got was money after all that time.

Not exactly the greatest of selling points if you ask me.

the ibt here was about 6, and yours at AA was what? 4-5?

No ones got anything to crow about on that front
