Thanks for the kind words lithuanian. As a fleet member of AWA we are respectful of Maintenance. You fellas keep us flying! And you're a really nice bunch. I came on when Bill Johnson was in Phx. Bless his soul!
G## bless the numbers, left, to continue any part of this airline.
UT,
Yes, In CLT there is a off site engine shop. I believe it is closer to a [QEC] operation.
All the overhaul work is outsourced.
50% of all heavy mtc.
The 50% Airbus HMV language went away with the recent "transition agreement".Doesn't your contract demand 50% Airbus HMV?
If so, we might want to keep that with all of UAs Airbus.
Union affiliation?
Does it matter?
Good Luck to us 'ALL'!

The 50% Airbus HMV language went away with the recent "transition agreement".
It now reads 50% of all "base maintenence" the company has.
The language never read 50% of the airbus work, all the East narrowbody A320 famiy is done in house, 50% of the 737s were farmed out, and all of the A330s, B767s and 757s could have been farmed out (much of it was).
All the west fleet is farmed out.
The new language reads 50% of billable hours, which means now the shops that were closed count in the hours farmed out so in reality more work will be done inhouse then currently.
Here is a copy of the changes to the CBA,
Transition Agreement
Read the language for yourself.
That’s a good possibly look how expeditious the current transition agreement went into place as soon as the merger news heated upIt would indeed be ironic if after all the union musical chairs at UAL-MCC if suddenly they were back in the IAM.
🙄
I had an interesting discussion recently with a former UAL co-worker and the US/UA merger subject came up.
Question: How many AMTs does US currently have? Any still on furlough? Recall rights?
