Has anyone out there heard the results of the IAM election that was held a couple days ago ?

Can anyone in the know tell me if the results of the election will be posted on either the 142 or the LL 1725 website ?

I believe that locals voted on different days and there are 25,000 members in the district from the East Coast of the US all the way to Guam.

Not sure when the votes will be tallied.

THe big question on many active members minds is : How can retired non dues paying members vote in this election for IAM officers that will have a direct effect on a contract? I know one local in paticular who contacted retired members by phone and letter for they needed their vote due to the poor representation of active member in that local. M any feel that the retirees run the local along with their own retiree club. Is it not the time to let the dues paying members have a true say in their local and not the retirees? Please can anyone tell me what is what on voting for IAM officers and this local keeping it so quiet for fear of not being voted in.

Two points.

Sight unseen, I bet 'The Slate' wins.

Two, the IAM whistled up concession votes PDQ.

diogenes,
You're probably right about "The Slate"...
[Even though a lot of members have had enough of the "Three Amigo's." 😉

i believe the only officers they can vote for are ones who do not have any input to contract items like trustees and such.

They cannot vote on District elections, they can vote on local lodge officers except grievance committee.

Well I witnessed a retiree voting on this district election in Clt with my own 2 eyes. Darrel the no life loser who hangs around for free food. The 1725 president says retirees can vote. Sounds like another botched election coming out of 1725 again and again and again!

Which is it 700, they can't vote or they can't vote in district elections but can vote on local lodge officers execpt grievance committee or do you really know?

Some locals were still voting yesterday.
