IAM Officer Election

Has anyone heard anything lately about when we can expect to see the results of this election ?
Good Golly, Miss Molly !!...... It's July the 6th!!....How long can this possibly take ?

The locals are still digging thru the burn barrels, it must of not turned out like they liked it! So they are figuring out a way to keep the people they want in charge! No reason for this type of election to not be held by phone its 2006 for crying out loud!!

You mean the technology is avaliable to enable members of an organization to vote via phone?? What would we do with all those extra 55 gal drums laying around!!! :down: Must be something aganist it in the bylaws....get a pin# in the mail, make a phone call, automatically tabulated!!!! Sounds fool proof...it will never happen!!!!

Just checked the 142 and 1725 websites...STILL nothing concerning this election...
Seems the IAM leadership is not too concerned on keeping dues paying members informed on what's going on with their union..
Hopefully we won't have another "confused" re-vote...

It's a crying shame it took sooo long to get the results posted...[giving me good reason to post the same thing over and over]..

BTW, I have been asking my union steward for seversl weeks about the election results, always getting the usual IAM answer, "UH, I don't know".

But anyway, Thank You for posting the election results.

I believe they were not counted till last week with the holiday and all, remember there are over 25,000 members in the district. Everything had to be sent to MCI and the tellers had to count them by hand.

Even for a IAM apologist such as yourself, You GOT to wonder why it took so long to get the election results posted....[Holiday or not].

Have you ever thought that the IAM should consider moving into the 21st century, and come up with a method that does not require counting ballots by hand ??

I totally agree we tried to get the International to go to electronic voting back in 2000, old timers did not like it. Actually back in 1998 we tried at the RS and ST convention in Orlando.
