IAM Pention Fund/Really How Good Is It? in $$.$$

You really need to read the IAM/US CBA.

All of us have who were there before 1/6/05 have a DCP which was taken over by the PBGC.

Since 1/6/05 we all have a DCP which is a pension plan.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Care to insult us anymore?

is that a typo from mkia (Mr Know It All)
I thought you had a Defined Benefit Guarantee or was it a fund Dbg or DBF
anyhoo. the fact is that there is know DBF like there was before, the DCP is much like a watered down 401k, sure the company puts in, but it ain't all that.

Yes it is a typo, it was DBP before 1/6/05.

Now we have the DCP, which is still more then any pension you dont have, oh wait, that is right, the ibt did not get you a pension.

well if you want to put the cart behind the horse where it belongs... We have no pensions anywhere at HP, so what the IBT couldn't do in a first contract, neither could ALPA in all of their's, the AFA etc.. the big disadvantage we have had that the east M&R hasn't had is without any pensions there is no " me too" clause, meaning once one group has a pension, all will get one because of the leverage of the ones that do have it

Comprende amigo..

When was the east M&R first pension set-up??? I am still waiting on a copy of the the cba from over fifty years ago showing stock clerks in the M&R

There you go, Article 2, Scope of the Agreement, Paragraph A.

The Company recognizes, in accordance with the Certification Case No. R-2146, by the National Mediation Board, dated April 12, 1949, the Union as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for all classes and grades of Mechanical Employees of the Company, working within the continental limits of the United States and its possessions, including Maintenance Control Technicians (MOC), Senior Quality Assurance Auditors, Quality Assurance Auditors, Senior Technical Documentation Specialists, Technical Documentation Specialists, Senior Planner, Planners, Lead Ground Communications Technicians, Ground Communications Technicians, Lead Inspectors, Inspectors, Lead Mechanics, Mechanics (all classes) Lead Stock Clerks, Stock Clerks, Lead Utilitymen and Utilitymen.

is this quote from your current cba???

where can we find the current cba on the hub"??

The only way we can see that it has not changed is to see the old one... again, we ain't gonna believe something just because it was said on here.
You may want to go to the NMB site and see what is listed under that number.. some mighty interesting stuff. like the IAM fighting to include QA, MOC and planners, now you want to cut them out????
oh and there is another r-4593 that sets the M&R class and craft...... the facts get got higher

Question.........does that date truly prove your answer? I wonder because those somewhat recently groups, MOC & QA, have not been there since 1949. It appears that the list is ammended as groups are added.

I just spoke with one of the men who organized the IAM on US property, the original certification was Mechanic and Utility, two months after the original certification the Stock Clerks were added. So the clerks were added in 1949 also.

Then in 1999, MOC, QA, Tech Docs, Planner, etc were added.
