No different than the fear that the HP TWU guys are facing with the IAM contract...........OUTSOURCING!!!

Do you know that for a fact?

Are you all knowing and all ready know what the transition agreement scope language will contain?

If you do, what are the next winning numbers for the powerball?

I said FEAR. I didn't state it as a fact. And yes, I do know for a FACT that they do fear outsourcing......just like everyone does.

And if you are so all knowing.........see below.

I thought they are ibt not USWA?

--------------------

There is no America without labor, and to fleece the one is to rob the other.

Never said I was, and the previous poster said USWA, when the teamsters web page says they represent PSA.

Keep trying.

You only make yourself look foolish, post the whole issue, not just pieces.

No, you never said you were but you accuse everyone else of being all knowing. You crack me up.
Just a suggestion. Expand a bit on your posts........say the teamsters web page says they represent PSA. That way, your post is much clearer to all.

You really think I make myself look foolish?? You should keep trying to come up with something new and better than that. Time for some new phrases. JMO.

PSA is outsourcing the ramp to PDT now.

I believe that this statememnt was a little misleading.

First, both PSA and PDT are 'wholly owned', so I don't really think of this as 'outsourcing'.

Second, the 'outsourcing' statement makes this sound like it is a bad thing. Are you sure it is? CVG, EYW, PGV, AGS, have all 'transtioned' to PDT, with more to come.

One of the reasons is, that these stations have had a hard time hiring and keeping employees under PSA. I'm not trying to make this a 'union vs non union' thing, but here are some facts. A union PSA employee starts out at $6.27 per hour and tops out around $10, while a non union PDT employee start out at $8.00 per hour and tops out at $12.50. Benefits are close to the same, but even here PDT edges a little better. Perhaps that is why we have not seen any threads (unless I missed them) from former, or soon to be former, PSA employees complaining about this 'transition'.

It is outsourcing when a group of unionized workers who have a CBA are being replaced by another company.

So what is your point 7? You know as well as I do that unions are not perfect. You have much more to be "ashamed" of right now than does the IBT. You can't "New Topic" your problems away. 🙂

Cant defend you beloved ibt so you try to deflect the subject at hand?

So what I am hearing here is that it is a bad thing for these employees to be 'outsourced' to another company, merely because they are no longer union.

Wow, does anyone care about the poor workers, who are now making more money and better benefits? What, exactly has the union done for them that was so great they should feel bad about leaving it?

I am pointing out just how another ibt contract leads to outsourcing.

PSA is outsourcing the ramp to PDT now.

Also I would like to point ot that this is not a question of just 'ramp outsourcing'. This is also customer service in stations where PSA did that as well. The contract that PSA had was for Customer Service, which included the ramp, ticket counter, and gate.
