Tell me about these rotating shifts that are specific to JFK and LGA.I don't seem to recall any rotating shifts at either station unless you bid VR.Only thing that rotates are the days off.
 
Correction, if you end up with a day off relief spot your shifts will rotate,but that is a conscious decision made by the person bidding the spot.

I know Lav dumps for one. There are only a few jobs and I'll be number 5 so I'll see. How about airfreight at JFK?

That's their choice, are you suggesting a more restrictive swap policy? Lets say needing to work X amount of hours to qualify for benefits, that's fine by me. 
My point is that being "full time" or "part time" on the US side is just a label in most cases outside of a guaranteed 40 hours per week with the bid schedule, and cheaper health insurance.  It does provide some additional benefits in being furloughed with some limited bumping privileges and moving expenses.  However, how is someone "full-time" while working 15 hours a week vs a "part-timer" who does 60 hours a week?
 
Doesn't strike me as a fair system where people can deliberately work a fraction of the hours of another, but yet they get lower insurance premiums because of a label even with the same DOH?

Weez looking at jet net there are a few places SAT,SJU DTW where LUS does not have fleet so people will have to be added there. during the winter months LUS could have as many as 4 330s in SJU

They arent goin to give up cargo laa. Other than your lus insurance, when they integrate the seniority they areplanning on screwing LUS and instead of going by doh (when you enter the class), they are planning to use old seniority policies and are goin to refuse to recognize lus and twa doh into the class. Remember, they could be fair and go by doh in the class but i was told they wont.

Hopefully, we dont lose other things that made it thru bankruptcy. I mean there are no logics to lose things that we fought for thru 2 bankruptcies, right?

I don't know about us fighting for things, more like what the company didn't feel like taking from us in bankruptcy. Tim you will be TWU are you going to bother with IAM affairs or will you  do some TWU whistle blowing

That's what we were talking about, the days off. It's the same thing since working a day is a shift. So they are rotating shifts. VR is bidding totally different lines and shifts.

while the iam is the grandaddy of rotating shifts, i doubt any of our negotiators would sign on to that.

It's fair because a person chooses to put in for FT. It's not a position you're forced into if you don't want it. What an individual does with that shift thanks to the change shift program is his business.

ill b twu but ill stay involved with the iam. I dont have to b a candidate again. Ill support my twu local just like i support my iam local.

Maybe? But if you do it's only an increase of about $40.00 per month for a single. I think with around a $1000.00 per month raise you'll be able to handle it.
if it is reduced down to that then tuff to argue unless other things are whacked.
