USAir cut back number of blocks causing Piedmont Captains to lose their positions.

A few months later USAir reversed and increased the flying and those positions we filled by USAir F/Os.

So you say. If that indeed happened, it was not in accordance with the Kagel Award as I read it and should have been grieved.

It happened seajay. Your merger reps, especially Tom Davis, and Resource Planning worked together to use the C&R's to steamroll the PI pilots back to their "rightful junior puke" positions. You spoke of the separate blockholder/reserve bid position - PI didn't have that so when Resource Planning split the PI lists up they started from the bottom reserve position, making former PI blockholders reserves and leaving blockholder vacancies for those "true US" FO's to bid. And of course there was the Kagel grandfather rights for PI captains. Displaced got first right back. Funny how those PI captains that got displaced suddenly had their grandfathered position on the opposite coast - commute transcon to reserve or stay FO and don't have to commute transcon. And you want base protection since it "worked so well" for you in that merger???

What didn't "work so well" for the true rustheads in that merger?

Question from a non-pilot, does the membership get to vote on the agreed upon changes in the MOU? Does the changes go into affect without membership vote?

We may not even get to vote...depends on whether the CLT reps and their cohorts can block it. That is the way it is headed. I just got a notice of a CLT meeting scheduled the day before the BPR meeting. Looks like they are circling the wagons and we haven't even gotten a chance to read it yet.

It will go something like this...
Things are bad boys...REAL bad! WE might even have to recall the prez if this keeps up. And if that happens, we would appreciate your support for Honest Bill. WE were RIGHT ON THE VERGE of making something happen when the malcontents elected Hummel. WE need another chance boys! Tomorrow is OUR day!

Don't you think you have the right to vote if it envolves your pay, work rules and concessions? Our reps can't block squat I wish they could if my right to vote is being taken away. Hummel and the compass corruption boys are tucked neatly in Parkers back pocket. ALPA all over again.
