July - US Pilots Labor Discussion

This situation is NEVER going to be resolved. Unbelievable swamp.

The only way it will get resolved is through the courts, a merger, or taking our union back from the angry and apathetic.

What our union, our collective group, never understood is that there are ways to build and create leverage. And I'm not talking about illegal job actions and slow downs. A decent contract could have mitigated some of the pain of the arbitrated list and we ALL would have enjoy the benefit for many years now. Instead we have allowed ourselves to be ruled by ego, bullying, and peer pressure.

You are correct that this place is a filthy swamp, inhabited by mostly the worst among us. Not a good representation of the majority I know and associate with.

A "DECENT CONTRACT" with the "NIC" would not mitigate anything, it would have let those in the WEST that benefitted from their winfall on the seniority list translate that to a lucrative winfall while the pilots that actually sacrificed for those gains long term get nothing! MM

Bid 12-04
NET GAIN / (LOSS)
All Equip C RC F RF TOTAL
76I (11) 12 (26) 7 (18)
B737 (6) (6) (6) (7) (25)
A-319 12 9 12 (4) 29
A-330 (13) 17 (30) 40 14
E-190 4 21 4 21 50
TOTAL (14) 53 (46) 57 50

Is this what you all have been waiting for and paying for? Is this the huge growth you have all been talking about?

A shift from 767i to 330 with a loss of 4. a shifting of 737 to 320 with a gain of 4 for a wash. The only "growth" is an increase of 50 on the 190. This is the valuable attrition you scream about? Pathetic.

How is he wrong, this is the middle of the month,

So simple even a simpleton like you can understand. The "big hiring" was supposed to start the middle of this year in preparation for the "massive" attrition, now he says the middle of next year.- after the "massive" attrition kicks in. Shows how much those "highly placed" sources and those who believe them know...

Jim

Is that the training float?

Maybe Jim knows how that works.

Since the increase is primarily on the 190 (50 new hires, 50 more bodies on the 190), my guess is sorta yes, although not what you'd normally think of as training float - extra bodies throughout the system to cover pilot time lost to training. My guess is that it's to train replacements for the 190 guys/gals so they can go to training when retirements start on the next bid.

Notice that the headcount shows a decrease of one line captain and the increase is all on the 190 except for the shift of time from losing 737's and getting NB Airbuses.

It certainly seems that Resource Planning is doing it's best to help the east. Look at the A330, for example - decrease staffing for the winter schedule but increase head count 8 or more months early for deliveries coming in the 2nd half of 2013.

cleardirect:"For after 7 years of dealing with dishonest and untrustworthy east pilots I have zero concern for you."

So then.....What's your point, and why do you supposedly care at all?....Other than you being left out of the "Pathetic" attrition actually EARNED by, and being gained by others than yourself of course? 😉

Would a fresh box of tissues help? 😉

What attrition? In case you haven't looked the latest bid is a wash headcount-wise except for the new hires - 50 new pilots hired - headcount goes up by about 50... ^_^

Yep, a fantastic strategy. We ALL sit here for years with no improvement to keep them from a perceived windfall. Brilliant!

JIM YOU ARE SENILE, traininging on right and left the westies are crying so much that they are not part of it. Please read tour ALPO magazine major movement at on the East side

[sub]I'd love to hear USAPA explain to the new-hires how they've done so much to make the place they will call a career so great. The crickets will be deafening![/sub]

[sub]Perhaps the injunction should be expanded to cover this as well. [/sub]

[sub]"Yes Mr. Hummel, I understand how keeping the lid on pilot costs helped the senior F/O's, but what about me. No, I don't have to pee, I asked about me. No I don't think I'll be needing a dues check-off form, thank you."[/sub]
