DOH has always been a problem. But it has nothing to do with the tiny number of "big" airplanes you guys are obsessed about.
Not for me! Besides that attrition you have should offset any of those tiny numbers, run along now and get out that checkbook!

Wake up Clear, we are not obsessed with "big" airplanes, we have them already, go watch your PHX crew news video and watch your westie buddy cry on the camera that he has to go to Air China if he wants to fly a "big" airplane.

You really are to ignorant to understand anything. You either have no idea what you are talking about or just flat make up lies.

I watched that crew news, the BS you just posted is no where near the truth. No other way to say it. Your statement is a lie.

Also moron, if he was so determined to fly a big airplane like you say. Why did he come back at the first opportunity and leave that big airplane?

Are you really kidding me you did not see that video (yes crying was an embellishment) but tell me he was not whining about flying widebodies, remember we all posted apps for Air China for him?.

I have to agree with that I believe. I was a junior captain, and before the merger I was already worrying about keeping the seat. Fuel was rising, this that and the other. I'd heard rumors that Parker didn't want the airplanes that were coming, and we had a lot of leased airplanes that could have been returned. I'm still in the left seat today as luck would have it. Looking back, I'm not at all sure I'd still be in it sans merger.

That said, now please allow me to straddle the fence🙂 To the east pilots, please realize Nicolau didn't find the west argument(or east for that matter) persuasive, and he stated such. To the west pilots, I'm not trying to belittle our 'pain' at all, just trying to be honest about how I feel. I'm thinking we'd have had a rough go of it as an independent AWA. But Parker has shown an uncanny ability to scrape along, despite the odds. However, even if we had scraped along, that doesn't necessarily mean thriving.

As another that has been accused of fence straddling, I find this post a realistic view of what has happened.

What would have happened is a guess at best. Best anyone could do would be to lay odds. I do find posts like clear's above that say Parker should have let us sink then gone back and saved the stragglers. With what?

Well you can't have it both ways! Since the "NIC" is not bad for the EAST then DOH can't be bad for the WEST! Since were losing all that money, Heard a rumor on the NOV which includes attrition and new hires, 5 airplanes coming EAST that were not anticipated 90days ago! CHOI!

Also heard they hired a bunch of new sim instructors, with all the movement that is starting.

Easy to prove who is right. What date, which section, time stamp was he crying about flying wide bodies.

Prove your point otherwise you are simply a liar.

Had a check pilot tell me hiring will be 25-35 per starting middle of next year for a long time unless retirement age gets changed again.......PS 95% go East.....I told you it was coming Westies.....getting closer and closer......will take the AMR deal another 2 years....by then 300 new upgrades!!! Plus more due to "indefinite sepops!!!!.

Yes Nic did write that but remember the West proposal put the bottom ACTIVE 900 pilots a U on the BOTTOM of the list.....he may have written that but he threw us a bone with the top 517 and then proceeded to throw the REST of the East under the BUS!! So FN.
