I noticed Doug Parker had the 3 leaders of American's Labor unions with him at the press corps speech today...did USAPA even go so much as a text message?

I would suggest some reasonable caution for any west supporter in furiously thrashing pom poms around as a result of that, and in general, for what a "merger" with American would likely mean for them....Just sayin'....

Usapa has had 4 years to rally the east and west. They have done nothing but drive a wedge between the two groups. So I am not looking for unity. I am looking for the Nicolau to be shoved up your collective sixes and you guys and cry quit or accept it. Your choice.

Actually, they did, they were with the AFA, and IAM reps around the corner at O'MALLEYS and reminded DOUG that cabs are abundant in the city and to call one. The AOL rep was invited but got carded when he showed up and had to wait outside! MM

Bottom line.....ALPA did nothing, not only then, but throughout the whole process, thus, their asses were thrown out. And this had nothing to do with the NIC.

Now, I ask you West guys......after paying ALPA dues for 15-20 yrs, wouldn't you expect more for your years of investment in the professional union that was trusted to protect your professional career, wouldn't you expect ALPA to step up to the plate and protect you....especially, when promised a vote on the future of your retirement plan? And when they betrayed you......you would trust anything......that's ANYTHING.....that they did in the future?

Your pension was taken by the court in 2003. You waited until 2008 because it was all about Nicolau. If you guys hated ALPA so much you should have dumped them then. Besides who was it you guys went running to when you did not get your way? ALPA national.

ummm....after paying ALPA dues for 20 years I got pretty pissed when Prater sided with the east and tried to throw the West under the bus, in direct violation of ALPA merger policy and the ALPA C&BLs.

of course the liars on this board, who post fallacies about the Nic, and try to rationalize the theft of West jobs, have little regard for the fact that ALPA had a DFR to the membership just like the scab union, and therefore can't pick sides.


I would like to point out that once again we have east posters thinking they are entitled to something from ALPA that the West was not entitled.

1) The primary point of contention noted was the pension, which, having nothing whatsoever to do with YOU or your precious nic, I wouldn't expect you to even notice in any way, shape or form.....Typical.

2) Gee! and to think that I was so completely churlish as to forget to thank them for giving away our pensions, literally in the middle of the night, while denying us any previously promised vote on that! What a truly fine fashion in which they certainly did "protect" us all from ourselves!
