July - US Pilots Labor Discussion

Not open for further replies.
At the Pilot for Pilot meeting yesterday, a pilot asked Gary Hummel if the pilots would get to vote on any agreement he is making with the company. His answer should alarm pilot here with how he worded it. They would get to vote on a TA, but not a MOU.

An MOU is a Memorandum of Understanding which could be binding on the pilot group here. An MOU is what he is negotiating. The devil is in the details. In law, there is almost always a built in exception to a rule. An MOU can be an agreement between USAPA and the company but falls through the cracks on whether we will get a vote.

This is why secret negotiations are so dangerous and why we are so alarmed. Stay tuned. Your future is being decided by people that may not have your best interest in mind.
Brought to you by the compass corruption boys, USAPA is now worse than ALPA was. Oh wait a minute they are the same ALPA boys, no wonder.

Don't worry, You easties don't give a whit about anything that is "binding" How about you just delay it for the next 5 years (while you get paid LOA93)

Entitlement East...the amusement thy give is like Christmas every day...

The original MOU was debated on and approved by the BPR in closed session, and the recent response from Kirby was received and sent to the NAC and lawyers at once. They chose not to reply over a weekend, so others were involved to at least have eyes on the document. But at the end of the day, NO OTHER INPUT was returned to the Company other than that of the NAC. NONE.Sad thing is, after all the support he was given by all involved, the one who really dropped the ball was DiOrio. Guess his 4 years plus on full flight pay loss made him think he had weekends off, and then the ability to leak his first response to the CLT reps only instead of the whole union. Can you say ALPA? Bad move, or maybe a really good move. Flying the line is what it is all about. Hope he enjoys it like the rest of us, not so bad.Anyone in USAPA acting for future political gain now is a fool. USAPA is toast. Maybe someone needs to take the Charlotte reps aside and remind them of that fact.Greeter

What is the current makeup of the NAC, and are there three West pilots on it as per the TA?

Colello (Chair E), Owens (E), Holmes (W) & Calveri (W) + Professional Negotiator Roland Wilder. Camp Cleary is up in arms because the majority is unfairly out voting the minority. Former dick-tater agenda now compromised with possible movement forward!! Warning!!

It kind of funny. It's like watching a Miller Lite commercial on steroids (TASTES GREAT! LESS FILLING!).

Lurkers: If you are happy with the status quo (no better contract but extra beatings) you should congratulate your CLT representatives & 2 PHL representatives. If you want a new contract, time off, better wages (as delivered via a merge w/ AA presently), then you shoud call your representatives and demand better (or remove them as you please).

Thanks CB...if they would remove scab Colello and replace with maybe a newhire east pilot, I would bet some real progress could be made.

Lookie here . An actual threat from a little old gray haired "man". I'm sure move is just shaking in his boots. What you plannin on doing if he doesn't get this BS out of his system tough guy ?

cv

Threat???

I didn't threaten anyone. BUT, flying a 4 day with someone with a GIANT chip on their shoulder is a miserable experience. If he can't put all this hatred aside, then why walk right into the middle of the ones that all of that hatred is focused against?

Not much of a quality of life if you ask me. "Little old gray haired man? Now you've hurt my feelings...LOL 🙂

Who's "we"?
Certainly no pilots I know. Every pilot I talk to is relieved that something is being done so we don't get completely shut out of the process. What are you going to do when your pal McKee and his band of merry idiots puts the brakes on every reasonable effort to be part of this process? Probably the same as always...shrug your shoulders and tell the rest of us that you gave it the old college try. Meanwhile we get left holding the bag.
Enough already!!!!! I want to see what Hummel can come up with. NOT more of the same of the last 6 years.

Why so worried?

If Binding Arbitration is not really binding in your world, why would a little old MOU be of concern?

By the way, you never answered my previous question. Are you the author of your posts or copying and pasting another's "just my opinion's"?

I see now you are part of the compass correction group, Every pilot I talk to is outraged at Hummel and Caibattoni for trying of cheat us out of a vote. If you don't agree with Gary you get fired. Gary could not have got squat done in the last six yrs unless you want another LOA93, the only reason things are starting to move now is the AMR possible merger. All my old friends that fly Int'l now know you guys will sell them out in a minute for a few bucks. Yes, I to hope it works but it will be a substandard deal to vote on, I'm sure, and I know maybe a little better than what we have now.

Six years?

Where have you been the last 25 years? What did you have before six years ago that you didn't have until Hummer showed up?

So why are you playing politics?

Whatever deal you end up with will be a gift from the company or APA. USAPA is 100% shut out of any negotiations. I love the newsbite "press release" USTUPID put out quoting lap dog Ted Reed announcing the big news that Hummel is FINALLY getting to meet face to face with the #2 guy to discuss the merger the APA approved months ago in secret. A FAKE PRESS RELEASE?!!!  Kirby is being gracious by offering so much as 15 minutes to Hummel. USAPA has the word "pathetic" branded across it's idiotic forehead.

I am not part of Compass Correction. I am not on Pilot Action. I am not part of any group. I am not on any mailing lists. I do not receive emails from any splinter group from within or outside of USAPA. I am just one pilot with many like minded friends that believe that everything that has taken place over the last 6 years has been mishandled. I don't need others to do my thinking for me. I call them like I see them. I come on here and give my opinions. They are mine and mine alone. Please don't label me if we disagree. I will do the same for you.

Absolutely! So why are we paying dues to such a neutered organization? If Gary wants a sideletter, write one that suspends Agency Shop requirements for both sides until a joint contract is negotiated. Performance based compensation might motivate better than sitting on FPL.

Why is the east so incapable of keeping their own house in order? Why do they need some outside supervisor like ALPA or APA to keep them under control?
