Care to explain your logic here - if there is any? Horton has to win support of the UCC and a bankruptcy judge in order to retain control and stay in his current position. Everything he does is checked and weighed against other alternatives by parties that he has no authority over whatsoever and those parties have little to no discernible loyalty to him to support an inferior plan if a superior plan is offered by Doug. Furthermore, the UCC can ensure that Horton is removed from his position and bring in their own choice for CEO just like they did with Anderson at DL. Grinstein was not in control of that decision and his chosen successor was not selected by the reconstituted BOD.Doug Parker will have no control or say in the transaction. Yes, it may happen but it will be the AA crowd running the show against the Franke machine. Parker will react, not act. Just as he always has. American is way more in control of this thing than Parker ever will be.

The bottom line is that.....

On the other hand, Doug does not have to answer to a bankruptcy judge or a UCC. He answers to a BOD and the stockholders of LCC who have repeatedly supported his leadership and vision for the company. They have also ensured Doug is properly compensated for his leadership and there is no indication that they are ready to change their allegiance to him anytime soon.
So, in order for AA to take control of the merger and force Doug out they would need to gain control over the LCC BOD via a hostile takeover and stack their own people on the LCC board. That kind of action would require substantial funds which AA doesn't have and I seriously doubt anyone in the investment community would be willing to give when the only point is for Horton to retain his position. If the AMR UCC/BOD wants a merger with LCC, surely they would take the more lucrative and expedient route of accepting an offer from LCC while AMR is in bankruptcy. The bottom line is that a LCC offer to acquire AMR makes good financial sense and it has the support of the labor groups at AMR which is key. An AMR takeover of LCC is expensive, illogical and gains the investors nothing other than retaining Horton over Parker which would not be a positive trade off for them anyway.
Try to be more "conscious" of your spelling when you call someone a fool.Only to select fools, evidently incapable of seeing the inherently infantile folly of theirs, at least on any fully concious level......
And they sure have the track record to prove your point.Your "logic" means nothing. What means everything is Doug Parker and Kirby are proven to be incapable at merging with another airline. Over and over. They just simply screw it up time and again. This will end similarly.
I guess the shuffleboard game is over, now Jim go get a nice cold Ensure, bingo starts at 4:00pm, this board is for pilots. It sells better than yours...
