July - US Pilots Labor Discussion

Few have prospered since USAPA took the reins.

A few have upgraded to Captain at LOA 93 Captain rates. They could have been flying as F/O's with a pay raise and still gotten their upgrade under Nicolau in just about the same time frame.

The Age 65 attrition numbers have been presented and simply do not support the massive upgrades that you believe are coming.

Please tell me when you expect to achieve the better pay and working conditions you cite in the first sentence of your post. Did McKee tell you they're right around the corner?

PHX may well close or shrink, but ultimately, those displaced pilots will slide into their rightful Nicolau positions in CLT, PHL, DCA. Especially if the AA merger comes to fruition.

By the way, the Super 80's were not parked until after 9-11. That would be 13 years after the PSA USAir merger.

And if you think spending the last ten years of one's career under LOA93 is lucky perhaps you need an appointment with Dr. Lynne Fenton....
BOTTOM LINE NOT 1, your words! Your insults are noted and expected, Mckee I can guess is a sore subject for you, You obviously have your LOS, you want most of the EAST to except, less than your obvious DOH rights at your short term expense! In other words I got mine you pay for it! Sorry listened to most of the, I got displaced from my LAX md80 Capt position and was forced to fly the 75/6 at a 50K a year raise in PHL/CLT when times were good! You know you just need to "SUCK IT UP"!

You know MM, I tell my friends at places like Alaska about east guys like you and they just don't believe guys like you exist. Why would someone not just be stuck in the bottom of the barrel, but revel in it? Hope you don't mind me copying you're post and forwarding in on to some of them. It'll help them to better understand why we're the lowest paid pilots in the industry with no contract in sight. You guys complain AWA pulled down the industry in the past. I think the biggest damage AWA did to the industry was merging with and therefore saving US Airways, because now you guys are pulling down the industry.

Bean
You see BEAN, YOU didn't save anyone, for an accountant your obvious lack of situational awareness is humorious, and besides I could give a sh&$ about what you think! LIFE is GOOD, SUCK IT UP!

...
OR FLYING CAPT FOR THE SAME MONEY, while guys hired 15 years after them fly CAPT on that same A/C! Good Luck!

Somehow MM, I feel you will be the one that needs to "SUCK IT UP" when things don't go your way.

And I know you're a better pilot for having been mentored by the best of the best from PSA. You ARE Lucky!

Hey Einstein...right now...there are West captains hired 15 years behind other West captains making the same money and have the same benefits on the same plane.

Meanwhile on the east..there are also east captains who hold the same position as the West captain with 15 years less LOS...the difference is that the West captain makes 15% more pay, has 31 days vacation, gets paid to deadhead, gets payed to train, oh, and s/he gets the ever negotiable crew meal.

You are an egomaniac idiot...just like your scab buddies at usapa.

It's not any funnier than your spelling. Do us a favor and switch sides to management. I'm tired of being on the losing team with guys like you jumping up and down chanting, "I'm happy losing, I'm happy being a loser." If you're not going to help righting it then get the heck out of the boat.

BEAN, you missed the boat, when you get over your grammatical fixation complex( it's a webboard not a college term paper but if minutia is it let the dollars fly), Tell me what airplane DELTA rates offer over 145 bucks an hour at as F/O! Because under the NIC starting in JAN, EAST attrition covers the F/O upgrade to CAPT as opposed to F/o under the NIC, feel free to correct the grammatical errors! MM!

Well it's August and still no decision from Judge Silver. What has changed since the clock started running on her eagerly anticipated judgement of course, is the strong possibility we may become AA.

Up until now our legal battle (the east) has been borne by USAPA with both east and west dues money. If the judge were to render a judgement which is bad news for the east, our heretofore stated strategy has been to appeal. But if we become APA, the cost of any appeal will now need to be borne by the east pilots only. I seriously doubt that APA will assess its membership to fund our cause. We will then find ourselves in a similar situation to the MDA pilots in their legal battle against ALPA, or the west pilots in their legal battle against the east.

We will, each of us, have to fund the effort with our own money, as in write a personal check. Kinda like the PIC investigation effort - only on steroids. Imagine having to pay more out of pocket just for the privelege of staying on LOA93. Too funny.

Of course, the same holds for the west. If the Summary Judgement goes in favor ot the east, then the PHX group will have to dish out even more for an appeal or a DFR - and the east will have to pay to defend itself.

The big wheel just keeps on turnin...

Reasonable post, although the west pilots have donated voluntarily, similar to the initial contributions by the MDA pilots which only lasted for a limited time. The only real reason you guys even supported the MDA pilots and made it an east issue was the remote possibility of seeing a redo of the seniority list after the Nic came out, USAPA has been paying for that misguided endeavor since their inception. Plus, you forgot the malicious attack your union played on 18 west pilots using union money and thrown out with prejudice twice in court- that defense was self-funded as well. So really, the only group you mentioned who has "put up the money" is the west (twice over) and we will continue to do so because it is the right thing to do. Showing resolve on an internet message board and wearing lanyards and all is one thing, self-funding it is quite another.

I really believe Judge Silver would do us ALL a favor if she would get on with it and render a judgement. This has drug on far too long.
