Well-let's just change the entire way we settle dispute because you don't like it.

There it is again that all about meeeeee attitude.

1) What dispute did the nic arbitration indeed "settle"? The most casual observer would see nothing's been settled in over five years and counting. If you wish to claim this example to be a brilliant, workable and presumably beneficial product to the involved employee groups, and a fine testimonial to the use of arbitration...well...I'd sure love to hear your explanation......?

2) Hardly. What you see again is a refusal to abandon personal beliefs and principles just to suit whatever nonsense might be whimsically floating by in the way of momentary social fashion....which, from your response, is presumably an entirely alien concept to you .

Most people don't consider the opinions of neutral, trained professional arbitrators "whimsical nonsense", especially when the same opinion floats by four times in a row.

Thousands certainly take exception to that "most people" observation with the nic case, just within the the US pilot ranks alone.

Thousands who would benefit personally if their opinion became reality, the majority of which lie within the ranks of US pilots.

As well as many who would benefit personally from just taking the nic and whatever raise, and in fact, forego potential gains in order to oppose it. No matter. Let's take the perspective that four arbitrations equates to arbitration being a proven and reasonable method. Hmmmm....were you aware that the longest running hand at a craps table, at least to date, was 4 hours and 18 minutes, with 154 rolls and 25 pass line wins? That's a great deal larger sample than a mere 4 "rolls", and one might misconstrue the succesful 154 rolls in a row with equating to a more reasonable method. Perhaps all should now employ dice to make seniority determinations?

They're trained to be neutral get it right and were approved by both sides.

What are the odds they got it wrong four times in a row?

Trader, I always thought you resembled this guy........

luvthe9 & Trader:

Gentlemen: If we're to recast the show for a revival; open and fair auditions should be allowed, and...well....I'd humbly ask to at least be allowed to audition for the role of Gomez 😉 Pick me! Pick Me!

Hmmm...on second thought, perhaps an arbitrator should select. In light of having no actual acting talent, experience or training, I'd have a lot better chance to be given the role that way, than to have to try earning the postion personally. I've been told to get with the new times/new era here, so: "What's in it for MEE?" and how do I get what I want over more worthy others? 😉 The obvious answer is to use an arbitrator.

Based on the interminable debacle at US....I'd say some doubt must be reasonably cast on at least this one........and said odds that they got it wrong 4 times, as opposed to those needed to roll 154 times in a row without crapping out...? What's your point regarding odds? If we're discussing odds at all...well..what's that say about the whole arbitration bit in the first place?

and said odds that they got it wrong 4 times, as opposed to those needed to roll 154 times in a row without crapping out...?

Exactly the same after 4 times of each. At that point the odds against rolling another 150 times without crapping out were astronomical...

All it says is that somebody, sometime, will beat the odds. So there may indeed be another DOH seniority integration somewhere down the road.

Don't sweat him. He's really a teddy bear at heart. Buy him the first round and he will melt like putty.

Teddy bear, yes. Melt like putty after a few rounds, not so much. That's the east - promise them your seniority and they'll promise to respect you in the morning...honest.

Seems to me that you and Traitor would develop a backbone instead of aligning with the West pilot's wishbone. Your attitude is pathetic.

Wrong, Sherlock. Both a backbone and sense of humor are present and accouted for. The sense of humor is especially important when reading your contant whining and bitching. It's amazing that supposedly smart people could believe that someone wanting to keep the seniority s/he'd earned could be wrong but wanting to go from on the street to being senior to captains is considered "only fair". That people would feel entitled to jump ahead so much in seniority is what's really pathetic...
