(Emphasis added)I earned a bachelor degree in engineering in 1973 at an aviation college.
That says it all. Not to slight aviation colleges since there are some fine schools that teach avaition and graduate fine pilots but don't produce world-class engineers. You see, I went to an engineering university where they do graduate real world-class engineers so I know a thing or two about slide rules since they were required equipment. A slide rule is nothing more than two logrithmic scales, at least one moveable in relation to the other, and a movable cursor line or dial can be added to improve accuracy. You can add scales (at least one moveable per two scales added), use notations or features specific to a given field (i.e. the slide on an E6- B), make it round instead of linear, etc, but it's still just a slide rule. An E6-B is just as much a slide rule as any that exist, having the requisite 2 logrithmic scales with one being movable.
