McCain Picks his VP

It's not at all racist. I like Barack Obama. He's a nice person and I believe he truly means well. I simply don't like the self-proclaimed black leaders and what we all know they're going to do once he's in office. That's not me being racist...that's THEM being racist. They're being racist because they think that because Barack Obama is half-black that he is obligated to support their agenda. They're salivating over this guy being President.

Slightly black was my way of saying that Barack is an American of African and European descent. He's worked very hard during his political career to try to nail down his black credentials and yet he simply does not identify with the black race that has so embraced him. He's tried everything to try to shake the Sharptons and the Jacksons, much to his credit, but they won't allow him to be his own man. He wouldn't have that problem if he was Asian, Latino, White, or a mix thereof. The black "leaders" have put him in this position.

It truly is a shame that in 2008, an American man of African and European descent cannot run for President without being held back by the same old politics of the past. It's time to move forward and, unfortunately for Barack, they won't let that happen because of his race.

Name one issue that Obama is running on that is what you consider a pro black issue. you can not

That most ironic part of your post is that your statement above applies equally to your position on the issue as well.

How so? Because I won't vote for Barack Obama because of the political baggage that comes with his ethnicity? There's not a racist bone in my body, but I'm not afraid to admit that I've had enough of the black "leaders." They've done nothing for the black people but keep them down and this is evident in any major city. By and large, they're corrupt, elitist, and care nothing about the plight of the people on whose behalf they supposedly advocate.

The African American culture desperately needs someone like Barack Obama to call their leader and, unfortunately, Barack doesn't feel the same way.

Barack Obama is a leader for the black community. But ultimately it is up to the black community to decide who their leaders are. By your idea someone like Barack would not ever be able to become a major leader due to people who you do not consider good leaders. You are not black so how can you even concieve of what black people look for in a leader. Until you walk a mile in someones shoes you can not know what goes into their decision making. You need to learn how to be objective and not always subjective. That is one thing an education teaches us. Maybe you did not receive that kind of education. most of your comments seem to be narrow minded and unable to see things from all sides. just a thought. Ask Jesus.

Warning! This post has been edited by me to put some rather startling and contradictory statements from two different posts in juxtaposition. The irony is just too delicious.

"There's not a racist bone in my body," but "I'm not voting for Barack Obama primarily because of his race."

Well, I'm glad we cleared that up. I am once again reminded of the quote from the Mahatma Gandhi, "Having read the teaching of Jesus Christ, I could very easily have been a Christian, if I had not met so many of them."

Sorry, Dude. We must have been typing at the same time.

I'm pro choice, pro gay, pro gun, and pro speech and couldn't care less about McCain's or Palin's positions. I prayed this morning on the issue and I know I've got Jesus standing right by my side.

Down in Texas, we call that shooting yourself in the foot. I think the political parlance is that you are voting against your own interests. Ask Jesus if he wants you to see a therapist about these self-destructive urges.

Palin on VP Job

"As for that VP talk all the time, I still can't answer that question until someone answers for me 'What is it exactly that the VP does every day?' I'm used to being very productive and working real hard in the administration. We want to make sure that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position."

Gov. Sarah Palin, ® Alaska: July 31, 2008

Jesus was not black. Jesus was Jewish and that makes him caucasian or, at the very least, Middle Eastern. By your statement, you are saying that Jewish people are black. Any Jews care to chime in?

I'm exiting this discussion because I've made my point and there's no point in beating the same drum. You guys know what's going to happen in the voting booth...you can campaign all you want for whoever you want, but that turn in the voting booth is what matters.
