My mistake. Enjoy your retirement.

Andy, hello are you there? I need help!
Gee what do you call Timco and Aeroman overhauling HP planes everyday?

I call it allowing outsourcing.

Yes the ibt has allowed and continues to allow outsourcing.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

IBT has NOT allowed any additional outsourcing since the contract was ratified in October 1998. And that's a FACT that you are not understanding.

I stand by my posting, the ibt allows the most important work to be outsourced and in the nine years of ibt representation they have not been able to capture the overhaul of aircraft.

And I, as well as others, will stand by what is a FACT. There has been no additional outsourcing since the IBT contract. The IAM, from what I have read, has not been able to do so either. Not sure how you arrived at the conclusion of what the most important work is.

DP himself said that under the current IAM contract, current HP work would have to be brought back inhouse.

Air,

It took two bankruptcies and three rounds of concessions and a judge in order for US/East to get the ability to outsource part of heavy maintenance.

Since 1949 all overhaul has been performed in-house by IAM represented mechanics.

Nothing like a Bankruptcy Judge to hold a gun to the employees heads.

I don't dispute that but when you put things into perspective such as the history of AWA (22 years) and the history of the IBT contract (a little over 7 years), of course there will be differences. Fortunately, AWA hadn't had to deal with all those union issues.....especially under bankruptcy. So there really isn't any historical comparison to make an honest judgement on. I hope you can see this. Time to come together as one company. Agree??

And another unfortunate circumstance....times have changed since 1949. Nothing is the same and nothing ever will be the same.

All as AS&P Mechanic

Retired from U still working as a machinist until my eternal destination train arrives

Still run into many mechanics/stores/utility people mostly at the local Giant Eagle in Robinson, where I also see local TV personalities all the time, these U employees are either retired, retiring or still working all with their own personal story of how U has changed their life for good and bad, it's 50/50 deal. Some pissed, some not, all sad it changed so much.

Yea we voted until we got it right. 😱
BrutallyHonest, Too bad we could'nt get the IAM to vote "Best 2 out of 3".
The IAM has lost a lot of respect with their decision to re-vote the original NO vote..
