And the 12 weeks DO NOT have to be taken all at one time. It also allows a sick family member of the employee to qualify for INTERMITTENT F M L A !

I'm trying to remember which RE - PLUG President signed that bill into law.
OH, That's right, it WAS NOT a RE - PLUG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Bears, I am a small business owner and between raising minimum wage in KommieFornia, requiring 3 days sick time a year for employees and Trumps trade war that have increased my product costs by more than 20%, yea I am getting hosed. I try to increase my costs but loose to the fat conglomerates that can absorb the costs in one location and make it up in another.
I have to buy local. I know you don't have a clue being sucking off a union tit for your life and never actually entered into a real job.
FMLA only hurts small businesses, Fat Cat Conglomorates can absorb it.
Do you need help with understanding that?

My problem with FMLA is that it's another law where the intent was good, but it morphed into what I call the "Three Day Workweek" law. And people get a note from a doctor and take two or three days off per week because of a hangnail. I did watch someone abuse it.

At my work, we had better benefits, (pension, liberal sick leave and vacation leave policy) but the pay was lower. One gal was always gone a couple of days a week....it was so she could work somewhere ELSE that paid more but didn't have as good of benefits as my place. They didn't know at first, but finally discovered this second job. There were no 'protection' provisions that covered taking days off so you could work somewhere else. So she was told to take the higher paying job and dismissed.

One unique thing they did where I worked - we did not lose sick time, so it kept accruing . You'd be paid 25% of your unused time when you retired. But we could also donate time to a coworker (anonymous to you), which I would do anytime there was a call for donations. I knew this gal was using FMLA to take days off, so i gave one donation with the stipulation that it was only for someone who was out of sick time and had a major illness and not to keep a paycheck coming to someone abusing FMLA. They told me they only looked for donations for serious situations.

The intent of the law was to give mom's more time with a newborn, or to tend to a loved one dying of a terminal disease. And that's the issue with any legislation. It ends up morphing into a monster because of all the "special situations".

Oh, by the way two, "unnamed", " west coast Major university studies" really don't impress too many people anymore, myself included! And I grew up, and worked out there.

Small business owners are getting screwed on all sides.
DemoRat/Socialists, RepubliRats (don't exist any more. Now they are TrumpOrats) screw me with equal fervor.
Why don't people understand that tariffs are a tax that they have to pay?
Because Trump told them that China was paying the tariffs and they believe him.
 
Sad part is that Trump himself believes that the tariffs he imposed cost American consumers nothing.

Yet they continue to buy. Last projection I saw showed we bought even more after tariffs were imposed.
 
So are you guys on record as being ok with China screwing us to death like they have for a half century?
