NEW PHL DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL AND CATERING OPERATIONS ANNOUNCED

I'm not sure what you expect her to do when she has FA's that worked through the process give the green light to go with the new packout. Fully loaded carts, memorandums and more were available for FA's to look at it in mulitlple bases, giving everyone a heads up on the packout and the ability to answer any questions. The catering department can only follow up on the contracted caterers failure to supply adequately based on specific feedback such as flight number, a/c, date, city pairs and city that catering failed.

Lets talk about Failed....

OJI - We have more OJI's since the new packouts have been put in place.
The OK - Yes, it was not given the green light by the UNION, or a vote was not taken. A few groups of flight attendants choice to make a new (packout). It was not taken in to consideration what routes/supplies are needed per both markets (East/West).
Questions - I asked a few, and told "This is how its going to be" End Quote....
Yes, we give feedback, yet nothing is changed... Its all about doing things the "new" way. Without proper time, consideration, or thought it to this subject.

Yes, Its my job to do what I am told.

Yet, I dont have a snack basket to do my job.
I dont have proper amounts of snacks.
I dont have Water to quinch the thirst of passengers.
I dont have proper meals to feed my F/C passengers.

And you say it was a perfect cart (packout). I say you need to get out of the office and actually use this New packout daily. Then and only then will you know how it fails....

If they were to "manange" the contract catering. Then they would know that we are "NOT" getting our CORRECT supplies. That there are major flaws in the contract catering. They they need more supervision on the catering.

What about the Airbus galleys "designed BY flight attendants FOR flight attendants"??? Who the frick were these decision making f/a's??
That foward galley drain is a joke. It is sooo shallow. After 4 bells (or 50 who knows now) and rushing to pour a full pot of e coli(coffee) down the drain ends up all over the counter.
How about the paper towel holder? Held up by *velcro*??
First..it doesn't stay up.
Second...no one fills it. Duh.
Then no one empties the beer drawer. I traced a water fall to row 19 one time. My personal record. You might say I should have checked that earlier.
But....I had to do 3 other peoples' job and til then had to board and got distracted.

We are only as good as the tools we are provided with.
Smoozing is good, but only goes so far. Help US help others.

Read slowly.

WHEN YOU'RE IN CHARGE IT's YOUR FAULT!!!
What part of that is so difficult to comprehend??

Just because you're an MBA for some Big Time School doesn't means you have a clue about operations. What it means is you've passed courses in how operations in various business work.

Never in my life have I observed a bigger bunch of blame shifters. WHY O'Why is nothing ever their fault directly?

You'd also do well to note that on the new website the bios and info on the current executive team is buried deep in the site whereas the "old" US was redily accessable. What does that tell you? It tells me a great many things regarding their attitude towards customers.

Other than the very top management in Tempe, I don't see anybody with MBAs. US Airways seems more apt to put community college graduates with a few years behind a ticket counter in charge of front-line operations.

All they have done with this "New" Galley Packout is put lipstick on a pig! It isn't any prettier than it was before. The Team of FA's should have been allowed to visit with Galley product vendors and find a cart that would work...not some meal cart that we make into a drink cart! Until the Company puts a few bucks into this it will always be HODGEPODGE!

actually jaxpax, I bet he just took an excel course at the YMCA and now he thinks he knows everything. tempe thinks anyone is pathetic because they realize the sand castle is filled with arrogant morons who think they know everything.

I do have to say that this "packout" was the FA's fault. It was said that the FA's from both East and West set up the packouts, and mgmt sat back, let them do what would work, and then approved it for distribution. (Which, I believe, is a good way to do it, right??)

I know for a fact that the "product specialists" in PHL, as well as a certain inflight sup from PHL were some of the ones at Tempe working on this. I saw them there the very day they were completing this task.

I dont think we can blame Shamby or Dean totally on this one, they let the FA's do what they wanted and needed. And there you have it......

When you are the head of a department it doesn't matter WHO created the packout but WHO stamped the final approval. She stamped the approval without knowing if it truly worked. Someone had mentioned how hard it was to open and close the ice drawer before. Well considering that just about EVERYTHING else has to come out of a drawer is it that hard to have ice in a drawer to have a more appealing and work friendly cart? The top of the cart has ALWAYS been valuable space and it is LOST with that bucket of ice on it. It's ugly, cluttered and takes up space. WHY do we have to shove things here and stuff things there on that damn cart now? I don't care about some folks little tidbit tricks on how to save the service. It blows plain and simple. So a few sat around and thought this out. Ever work with a B in the back that likes to "run the show" and sets your cart up how you DON'T like it and botches the service with meal sales? THAT is what this cart feels like to work.

Nobody I have seen is using that stupid, dirty blue bucket with a nasty garbage bag in it anyway. It's a bit tacky.
