OK, so I've been wearing the new uniform. I wore the pants and the light blue sweater set. The color looks nice on me. I usually wear it with the long sleeve sweater off since it is hot on the 737, especially during boarding and deplaning. I feel like a gym teacher or like I'm wearing a track suit. LOL! It is comfortable. My sweater already has fuzz balls all over it. I ironed my pants and they were very nice looking but I noticed at the end of the day when I took them off they were very wrinkled. Yikes! I hope I didn't look like that all day. It looked awful, and I even made sure that I did an extra good job when I ironed them. Oh well. I spent a really long time trying to iron the white blouse for tomorrow. The pax have noticed our new uniforms and said they look nice. Some AA pilots didn't believe I worked for US, they thought I was trying to sneak onto the elevator in TPA. Uh, no! See my ID! We changed uniforms! I know a lot of people hate the skort but I saw it on a f/a and it looked really nice on her, but she was small. She had it on with the light blue sweater set and a pair of heals and I thought it looked really cute. I think it is made for smaller, more petite f/as. One f/a I talked to said someone made a comment to her that the uniform looked like an old McDonald's uniform. You need wings that have the closed backs otherwise it will scratch you. My sweater already has a fray and a string hanging off and I noticed strings hanging off of my vest, which is what I am wearing tomorrow. Don't worry, I will cut the strings off. While it is nice to have something different, the pax can't tell who is a f/a and who isn't because there isn't any uniformity to our uniform. That is strange. Also, there aren't any shirt pockets where you can put the pen or ID. There's not one on the dress either. So, my ID just hangs and gets in my way when I serve or anytime I lean down. My pen has fallen out of my pocket a few times. One f/a who has been wearing her dress keeps losing her trip sheet, pen, and anything else she puts in her pocket. I really like the new pants. They aren't so high waisted, they aren't too baggy, and they are not too tight. They are comfortable. The blouses shrink so you may want to let them hang dry. One of my sweaters is much smaller than the other (like a whole size smaller) even though they are supposedly the same size. A couple of people thought I worked for some express carrier until I told them it was the new uniform. I've gotten compliments so far. That's nice to hear because I sure as he!! never got complaints on the other one. I washed a pair of my pants because I didn't have time to take it to the cleaners. It turned out fine. 😉 I don't care. Whatever. They don't give us a uniform allowance anymore anyway. Actually dry cleaning my uniforms each week would be so expensive! I will take my other pants to the cleaners when I get home but will still have to wash another pair. Oh well. The men's suit really looks nice. I like the striped shirt and the pants. We've all been complimenting each other on our uniforms. It will help morale for like a week, but that's about it. It's kind of like going to a Halloween costume party. I can't wait to wear all the different pieces and combinations. Tomorrow I will wear the vest. I hope nobody mistakes me for a Wal-Mart worker.

BTW, I am so happy to finally shed my old uniform for good! It was looking so ragged.

I go on my trip tomorrow but I got a few items from the tailors. I actually made the what they call a vest look like, well a vest. I just can't get over those zip sweaters though I WILL admit just testing it on around the house it was very easy to move in and comfortable. It's growing on me. Hell it's not going anywhere soon so might as well get over it huh? 🙄

Probably not for the next 25 years unless we merge with United!

I like them, I only like the dark blue on me, and the dress was very very comfortable. The issue I have with my pants is that they are so low waisted that when I reach for stuff, it is impossible not to flash midriff. They fit funny on me.

I think the skorts with tights and heels make butts look big and piggy looking legs. That sounds mean, but I hate skorts. I hate these ones and all those before them. So I guess its irrelevant.

Oh and this blue...I hear it really makes my eyes *pop*. Either that or that guy wanted first class. No way, Jose. That's $150. Flattery don't work no mo since we po'.

Oh, I love the sweater's softness. It makes me feel sleepy.

I heard FlightChic was rocking the uniform something fierce in the concourse on Monday. WATCH OUT!!

everyone i flew with today looked great. i did see a girl wearing the old gold usair wings with her uniform though. i was like, wtf? you all know what i am wearing.

FWIW, I saw the uniform. The blue sweater thing that ticket agents wear is just horrible. I'm not sure if you need to be thin, or, if it is just ugly, but it looked cheap and just ugly. The A wore a zip-up dress and I do believe she is a size 2--she was a hottie and looked great, although, she is likely the type of person who could wear anything or nothing and look good. The men's striped shirt is decent, but overall, I think it is all very cheap looking. I saw someone walking through the terminal in some knit thing that looked like it was already 10 years old. I haven't seen all of the uniform pieces, so maybe I am prematurely judging the situation, but I am not impressed. Oh, and someone was wearing what looked like HP wings or whatever they wear. I'm glad people are happy to get rid of their old uniforms, but some of the pieces look cheap.

You must have seen me! Don't be shy! Next time you see me it's OK to say hello. I won't bite your head off either. Actually, you should fly on my airplane in f/c and I will give you some extra wine. This month we are featuring Crooked Limb, which is the finest US has to offer. In addition, you will get twice as much because we serve "special" party cups and they hold a lot and I am generous on refills.

Reading the first post in this thread from FlightChic about the strings on her uniform already and other lack of quality imperfections made me wonder if this happened to any DL Flight Att's on their first day wearing there IMO very classy looking new uniforms ? I'm guessing either no or at least a lot less.

I was off today but yesterday I took two walks around the counter and gates at my station (LGA) to see how my customer service co-workers looked. Probably about 70 pct or so where wearing them and everyone I spoke to seemed upbeat. To add my two cents, about a third looked great, all in the dressier versions (dresses for the women, men in ties and either dress coats or vests) another third looked so-so, better than the old but basically nothing special. The last third or so, well looked, cheap, tacky, bad. Only saw one crew, 3 female flight att's as I was getting off the bus, they looked GREAT and all 3 where actually smiling.

The thing though that I noticed the most was no one from Express has their new uniforms nor will they at least in the next couple of weeks. In Hubs or larger stations like LGA where there is a large Express employee presence (9 gates, 16 aircraft parking spots at LGA) this sends a bad image I think to the customer. You check in the counter, see everyone or at least most in the new look, then down to the gates and all old. Or arrive on a ML or Shuttle flight and again see the new look at the gates, then walk over to your connection on the Express Concourse and you get the picture. I am in know way knocking Express or their hard working LGA staff. I just think (surprise) this is something Tempe could have done a much better job of handling.

End of Rant

Enjoy your new uniforms folks !

I have a feeling what happened is Tempe diverted the express allocations to get mainline supplied. As I think 1 or 2 express f/a's got their uniforms and no one else.

OH MY GAWD!

When I walked into the check-in room in Phoenix yesterday I thought I had made a wrong turn and pulled into the Chevron station! Those "big boned" girls should not be permitted to wear gas station attendant pants and untucked blue shirts! I asked one of my flying buddies how much for a lube and oil change and she is STILL not speaking to me!

Aloha from Kauai.
