No more robot door on 767?

We have been briefed that we now open the door as agents upon arrival of the mighty 767.

I liked the robot door!!! Does anyone know why this change was made and is it in effect already? I dont meet them that often.

Im sure it has to with slide deployments. When the door on the 767 is open from the outside, the door is automatically disarmed and the slipe wont inflate if the FA forgot to disarm the door from the inside. Makes sense to me.

On the current sched CLT only has 2 767's both to and from PHL.

this is going to be the new procedure on the 767. and yes it is due to slide deployments. we are the only airline that operates the 767 that the f/a crack the door. it can be done from the outside by the agents. they are just trying to keep it consistent with other a/c that automatically arm and disarm. it makes sense. alot of f/a are very overwhelmed by this plane . especially ones who do not usually fly it. i welcome very much this decision.

I noticed a 767 door simulator in the PHX training center...wonder if that means the 767 will soon be flying in and out of PHX?

Bravo on this decision. It will certainly alleviate any agent getting blown across the jetway by a dual lane slide. I don't understand why US didn't change this sooner. Well we ARE always quick to the draw.

I can count the times I flew this aircraft as a crewmember on one hand, and the time I was responsible for 1L was zero.

If this new procedure keeps folks safe, that is obviously a good change in procedure.

Well, on any airplane, just in case, I hold my pen at the GO position, that way if a slide deploys I can POP IT!!
