I'm probably gonna have to dodge bullets with this suggestion, but here it goes anyway...The debate over DOH vs Time of Check-In could be softened by combining the two methods. An additional boarding priority status for active employees (say for instance SA2N) could be initiated for folks who list at least 48 hours prior to departure. Within this boarding priority DOH would rule and would trump a SA2P. DOH should also be displayed adjacent to the boarding priority, so folks would know where they stand in the list. Any active employee listing after 48 hours would be a SA2P and their boarding priority would be based on check-in time. This would allow folks that are planning a trip (48 hours in advance) to have a good idea of where they stand in the non-rev category, and those who have a "spur of the moment" trip to use check-in time as their priority within the SA2P group.

Way too complicated............DOH very simple

BULLHOCKY!!! Just because there's more of the east people the west people should just roll over and get butt raped? the previous reply was correct, First come, first serve. It's also very simple.

Granted it is more complicated than straight DOH or striaght check-in time, but it is a compromise. We have to bring East and West together and if it's striaght DOH or striaght check-in time there will be some hard feelings on the side that doesn't get their way. This is obviously a very important issue for a lot of folks and maybe a compromise will be best in the name of unity.

Nice Talk there!

Clean up your act!

Seniority, for all non-rev travel.DOH is fair it will eliminate manipulation of the system.Lets see who can beat the clock(get lucky) to be the first one on the list.First Come NOT A GOOD policy I see it manipulated every day with rev stanby's

Senior people came first so they should get on first. Boarding priority should be the frist to check-in with the company.DOH

First come first serve.

Its called fairness.

I'm sick of the fact that people view seniority as the be all and end all. If you want to non rev, you should do a bit of effort to make the flight, like check in early.

Nothing worse than having some ultra high seniority emp just waltz up to the counter at the last second as if they own the joint. They don't, they just had a job for a long time, BFD.

More of the old entitlement mentality of east.

DOH. What part of that don't you get? I put in 20 plus years, so I am supposed to go below a new hire who is at the airport 4 hours early? Not right, not fair, ain't happening.

Yeah, you should go below a new hire when you get to the airport 30 minutes before departure, and you havent listed for the flight, and you have you wife and 6 snotty nosed brats with you.

FIRST COME FIRST SERVE What part of that is too complicated for you to understand?

An ultra senior person is not going to waltz up to the counter at the last second as if they own the joint and bump you off the flt. Ueast also has a 30 min cut off. You have to check in 30 mins prior to departure, if you do not, you do not get to throw around your DOH. You will be placed on the list behind all the active non revs that are listed.
