Non Rev priorities

I'm probably gonna have to dodge bullets with this suggestion, but here it goes anyway...The debate over DOH vs Time of Check-In could be softened by combining the two methods. An additional boarding priority status for active employees (say for instance SA2N) could be initiated for folks who list at least 48 hours prior to departure. Within this boarding priority DOH would rule and would trump a SA2P. DOH should also be displayed adjacent to the boarding priority, so folks would know where they stand in the list. Any active employee listing after 48 hours would be a SA2P and their boarding priority would be based on check-in time. This would allow folks that are planning a trip (48 hours in advance) to have a good idea of where they stand in the non-rev category, and those who have a "spur of the moment" trip to use check-in time as their priority within the SA2P group.


I was going to suggest a combination of the two also. Eric put more thought into it than I did. I like it....complicated or not, I like it. And is it really any more complicated than the 45 boarding priorities that we already utilize?

I'm sick of the fact that people view seniority as the be all and end all. If you want to non rev, you should do a bit of effort to make the flight, like check in early.

Nothing worse than having some ultra high seniority emp just waltz up to the counter at the last second as if they own the joint. They don't, they just had a job for a long time, BFD.

More of the old entitlement mentality of east.


I agree with all that you said with the exception of the last sentence. Come on, drop the east/west crap. The so called west are just as commited to their stance as the west.

DOH. What part of that don't you get? I put in 20 plus years, so I am supposed to go below a new hire who is at the airport 4 hours early? Not right, not fair, ain't happening.




Your 20 years would mean Sh** if it was up to your old mangemnet you would be on the street trying to get a seat on a public bus with your 20 years of service get a clue. You should be grateful to have a job and a benefit of travel thats right a benefit not a right. What I get if it was not for HP managment arranging the merger you would be asking wouild you like to super size your order as we wait to board a flight based on first come first serve.

I put in 14, seniority is still not the way to go.

Make the effort, show up early, get the flight.

What if it is a flight crew member coming in a delayed flight?
 
Does anyone realize that you can check in on line, from home or any computer via Compass?? And I'm sure that the access will be completely across the board soon. I would like to see some sort of combined policy. Not sure what but I don't think that anyone in the company should have to give up what they are used to...........totally.........so someone come up with a combined way AND a fair way for ALL employees. I'll sure try and then submit to the e-mail address..........as we all should.

Can a FA or Pilot check in from 30,000 feet on their last flight of the trip?

No I cant because because i am only responding to the same old crap that comes out of us east mouth DOH DOH DOH BLAh bLAH BLAH. Once you stop yelling DOH for everything then I will stop throwing it in your face that we aquired you.

Gee..........are you ever in a POSITIVE mode?? Or just PPO'd AND negative?? As your response reflects........you can't make everyone happy about everything BUT you can sure as hell TRY to make everyone happier!! Maybe you should TRY........think about things instead of popping off with questions like that. Since I'm in an advice giving mood.........how about trying to be a part of the solution instead of being a part of the problem?? People who consistantly piss and moan about "problems" become one themselves. You'll be so much better off, in many aspects, IF you have at least have a suggestion or idea on how to solve the problem. Could you try that??
 
You will quickly learn when you are dealing with Hemenway why the the US/East people are the way we are after three rounds of concessions, two bankruptcies and the lies and deceit of US management.

And I have tried to make things better, it only falls on deaf ears at US/East.
