You will quickly learn when you are dealing with Hemenway why the the US/East people are the way we are after three rounds of concessions, two bankruptcies and the lies and deceit of US management.

And I have tried to make things better, it only falls on deaf ears at US/East.

Look, I've been in aviation for nearly 26 years. Don't tell me that I will learn to deal with whatever it is you think that I don't yet know how to deal with. I have survived this industry for all these years having to work with a bunch of men and I have survived and better yet, I have excelled in my aviation career. So don't tell me anything.........because believe it or not, you don't know everything. And the sooner you admit that.......if only to yourself, the better off you'll be.

And you should really get over this US East crap..........we are one company now, whether you or anyone else likes it or not. Things can change and if we don't TRY, nothing will. So............what next????

Just wait and see, you will get a dose of reality soon enough.

That's such BS........you have no clue!! I am living in reality.

And I'm really surprised that you haven't more to say. Guess I'm not in such serious need of help............am I??

Maybe you should take a trip West and we can all have a chat, face to face, and determine what reality really is.

Make it an even playing field....
vote check in!
I am sorry you feel that way you must be junior. DOH is the only fair way other wise you will have agents screwing around with the list. DOH is plain and simple it is the only way to FLY.

DOH

And one last thing Mr. 700UW, if you feel you have suffered so over the years..........just as many of us who have chosen aviation as a career......no one, not a soul, not a union boss, no friggin' one in this universe, is FORCING you to stay. If you don't like, don't want to like it, don't want to TRY and make it better..........then leave. This is a free country. Or does it make you happy to complain incessantly??

I'm done with this..........best of luck to you. I hope one day you will be happy.

what other airlines use first-come first serve?
AA

All of you who don’t want DOH ….What do you think everybody is on every flight. It’s not that often there are more than 3 to 6 NRSA on a flight and I am pushing it. There is no reason that any NON-REV should lose a seat because they got to the gate later than you did. It’s preposterous to think so.

Your 20 years would mean Sh** if it was up to your old mangemnet you would be on the street trying to get a seat on a public bus with your 20 years of service get a clue. You should be grateful to have a job and a benefit of travel thats right a benefit not a right. What I get if it was not for HP managment arranging the merger you would be asking wouild you like to super size your order as we wait to board a flight based on first come first serve.

I am really bored with all this. Arguing on the Internet is like competing in the Special Olympics -- even if you win, you're still retarded.

Yeah, you should go below a new hire when you get to the airport 30 minutes before departure, and you havent listed for the flight, and you have you wife and 6 snotty nosed brats with you.
FIRST COME FIRST SERVE What part of that is too complicated for you to understand?
Work it out.......dont let them divide and conquer.

list 4 hours before.....late inbound wouldnt matter

What is the earliest one can list, it's pretty much impossible to get a good wireless signal in the vacinity of 30W and I don't think they'll let me list 12 hours prior. Sometimes all you have is about an hour between flights and most of that is eaten up in the jog between A-west and the B,C, or F gates in PHL.

If you're going to do it by seniority you need to give anyone who is either on furlough and working for HP or retired and working for HP their seniority for boarding. Think about that one.

It's obvious that not everyone will be happy so let's come up with something new and innovative. How about good looking people get on first, or tall people first short people last, or two skinny people can combine seniority as long as they share the seat. Be creative................... Of course if it is by looks then the west coast gets on first.

Freakin' hilarious...I believe you've hit on something. How about we board alphabetically by last name...No, wait...my last name starts with an "S"...let's make that boarding by reverse alphabetically! (See, it's always all about ME!)

I dunno if original US folks realize this, but HP folks will be loosing out to you in senority when senority lists are combine, so we will already be on the short end of the stick there. This affects our vacation, bidding, etc. Why on earth would you believe that we're gonna give up the ONLY thing that we can possibly keep, which is our boarding meathod? I can completely accept the senority list intergrations, they have to be done, and will be a give and take on both sides, but when original US brings such a large percentage of their workforce that is 20+senior, and HP has only a fraction of that, there is no way any of us can support seniority boarding. If you were in our shoes, you would feel the same way. I just hope that, even if the arguement doesnt change your mind, that you at least UNDERSTAND why original HP feels this way, and just consider it a valid argument. If I had 20+yrs under my belt, I very well could support seniority boarding, but I dont, and neither does the vast majority of original HP.

Can you all at least give us the understanding, that I really dont think is too much to ask?

PQAKnow-It-All, not every employee at AWA/UWEST is on the short end of the stick when it comes to this merger. For example, AWA/UWEST pilot group got a 5% pay increase last week because U-EAST pilots have a defined contribution plan for retirement -- AWA/UWEST did not have this so the company decided to allow it for their group. AWA/UWEST pilots pay rates are higher than U-EAST, still management did not raise U-EAST pilots to the AWA/UWEST rates NOR did they raise pilot vacation days -- AWA/UWEST pilots on average have 10 more days vacation a year that U-EAST pilots. It's not all wine and roses for U-EAST, and in this very uneven playing field I guarantee you we'll fight tooth and nail to keep our hard-earned senority.

I'm getting tired of a few people on this board acting like US-East is such an aweful "company", especially when it comes to non-rev travel.

don't forget, we're the ones giving you a "registered" companion, free pet travel, and Europe & the Caribbean.

We're merging two cultures & its gonna be difficult but a few of you are really doing what you can to get under people's skin (both HP and US posters).

Most of us US-Easters only "know" seniority based travel, as that's the ONLY thing I know, as I worked for United Express before USAirways. I have my own opinions about seniority/time of check-in, I prefer seniority, and my DOH is early 2005..... so I'm gonna loose out to 99.9% of you but I still feel its fair.
