The poster was not expressing opines on your behalf!! Get a grip there Tech. Don't be so wrapped up in your towel over your head....(that pun was not PC.... I digress), that you cannot see that other posters on this board may have an opinion different than yours........even if they may listen to their favorite radio show. If your intelligence is so far superior to other peoples' opines on this particular board, maybe it's time you find another message board that suits your........intelligence......meaning, one where everyone would only agree to what great minds such as yours believe in

I remember the earthquake drills in California as a kid.
That is the only time I have been under any desk...and it was my own.
Tee Hee/Ha Ha/etc. Comparing earthquake drills to the "fun" of being a child during the missle crisis, when you could plainly see that all of the "grownups" were pretty much properly terrified...you know? = the same adults that had seen WWII?..and knew, from actual experience and without any doubt, that huge warfare could begin at a moment's "notice"?.
Yeah...that's really an hilarious comparison all right. Having had the questionable privelege of experiencing that "fun" during the crisis, and many years later, experiencing the memorial museum at Hiroshima...I can assure any/all that the actual or even potential usage of nuclear weapons isn't much proper fodder for laughter. Having said that though...I'll add that anyone who assumes that the last mushroom clouds ever to be seen on earth have bloomed is, imho, hopelessly naieve.

Your "laughingly" compared experience with earthquake drills to that of those who, very reasonably, understood that major nuclear warfare might well be imminent during the missile crisis, and subsequently...seemingly required a little "reality refresher". There has long been an accepted, (however childishly idiotic) fantasy among those who've never understood that huge warfare was/is ALWAYS very, very possible, that it simply "can't ever happen now". Guess again..and try and learn at least something from history.
That it was, very thankfully, avoided during the Cold War was sometimes little short of miraculous, and was largely due to neither the Soviet or American ruling elites personally wanting to die. Show me where that plays into anything with the islamic Funda-"mental"-ists? That the possible, eventual cost to us all from having some completely spineless little puss-cake running around bowing his little arse off, and, in all ways, fully evidencing a "weak America" doesn't at all concern serious lefties....well...what can be said?

Tech......give this one up. You did not make light of WWII.....he was referreing to the GENERATION, the PEOPLE that lived through that time..... They knew war, then had to go through the Cold War. They evolved with the emergence of the "Nuclear Option"......More horrific than they thought they had seen in "the war".
He was not "rambling", my friend......only referring to something that you obviously have no clue of what you are talking about.................
