As to the Military, just because I think the A--Holes who run this country send our men and women on fool's errands around the world doesn't mean that I don't actively support veterans. What little money I can spare these days goes to the VFW, USO, American Legion and the Salvation Army. Been that way since I was a kid. My Dad passed when I was 13 in a VA Hospital as a result of Rheumatic Fever originally contracted during the Army of Occupation in Japan 1946.
No wife, mother, father should have to go through what my Mom did to get him into a VA Hospital. Until we got our Congress Critter involved and the head of the local American Legion involved the word was no. Once there he was seen by the then top heart team in the country from Penn. They used every tool at their disposal in a vain attempt to heal a very sick man. But the technology wasn't perfected. Those Doctors gave it all they had. 5 years later and he'd be alive today.
The idiots we elect who use our brave men and women as global police are to blame for so many coming to us dead, maimed and mentally damaged, NOT the citizen soldier who puts their life on the line. They must be respected and cared for in a manner worthy of their willingness to pay the ultimate price.
