I heard a rumor last week that there is a pay plan for management called pay for performance, can anyone back that up as fact?

It's always been called something along those lines. Managers don't get step increases. They get pay increases based on their performance evaluations against their peers.

When you hear things like a 1.5% raise taking place in management, it can be as radical as 5% for one or two employees in a given department and 0% for all the rest.

And to be clear, management pay plans like this usually apply only to levels 5 and below. L6 and above is a mystery...

So if the mechanics get an aircraft back to the airline in the required time, they are going to receive increased compensation. Who is going to determine an on time aircrafts ROI and how it is distributed? The Company or the TWU?

Edit: or the mechanics ---> Point taken

Who really cares if Management gets a raise? I just want one myself.

Complaining about management getting a raise, while your UNION fails to get you one, is not only futlie, it actually makes no sense.

Why not keep your complaints focused on your real problem? Which is the TWU is inept and has been caught bluffing on your behalf.

If managment gets a raise and you dont, then maybe representing yourself pays better than paying two hours per month to the TWU to get you a raise....pretty simple really.

Raise? From what I understand there's one to be had. Its just down to who is willing to say "enough talk, lets vote" B)

I'm trying to understand your logic. You think the company is going to negotiate any different with AMP then with TWU. I say vote so we can get rid of all the Unions. There was a time when the workers needed representation, with all the OSHA, EPA,FAA,DOT and the countless other agencies there is in place today, who needs anymore protection. Only if I was lazy and could not do my job.

I believe that without the mechanics tied to the TWU, the company may take a bolder stand and go after the other work groups under the tutelage of the TWU.

Well we don't often agree on anything so I thought I would chime in with, I hear the exact same thing now that the 7 day coverage is off the table for tulsa {supposedly} and the shift premium is back on the table the tulsa boys are ready to sellout any and everything else to bring it to a vote I guess 567 is the only thing in the way!

The next round of I'VE GOT MINE BROTHER is just around the corner. owe and let me guess your going to vote yes just like you where told.

I stand corrected and while we are on the subject the tulsa boys I am refering to is Cirri & Hewitt not the members. just the latest of a long line of sellouts.

I edited my last post to make it right.

We've all been sold the hype about the base local presidents supporting GEO pay for the line guys and the line local presidents supporting the bases on the 5/8's.
Well, boys and girls, go and read the unions latest proposal. The UNION removed the line premium and spread it around EVERYONE while they agreed to keep the 5/8's for the base..

WTF????????????????

Does anyone else see the same pattern hear of the line getting less to satisfy the base?

We not only need a new union, we need to separate the base from the line...Enough is enough!
If they can negotiate $50 an hour for themselves, God bless them....
But this structure has to change.

I NOW want AA to file Chapter 11....
I truly want to see what the company really wants by having a judge do it for us...

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE WILL NEVER BE RELEASED!!!!!!!!!!!
THE TWU WILL SELL US OUT AND WILL NEVER ALLOW US TO STRIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally agree. Those dues should be bringing you some return. Clearly they have not in recent years.

Oh, You mean like the ticket and gate agents?
Get it through your head, the company wishes to share the wealth with no one except the privileged few at the top.
As far as the union is concerned, this so called union, the TWU, caters to the masses.

Well your right. You and I don't often agree on anything but I'm glad you decided to chime in. I would like you to enlighten me on what the TWU could do differently to cause the company to deviate and regress from their position of working within the rejected TA. However. Before you reply. Keep in mind we're still in mediation, have rejected a TA from within mediation, and are negotiating with a company determined to move forward "with or without us" with its order of new aircraft. Also to date offering no commitment to the TWU of future maintenance to that new narrow body fleet. aapitbull, the dynamics have again shifted, so what say you now?
