Philadelphia Radical Towne Hall Meeting yesterday with Doogie and gang!

in most states, the moment you decline a breathalyzer you've broken the implied consent law. seasoned alcoholics and multiple offense dui offenders will often decline the breathalyzer test and request a blood test. why? for the very simple reason that they believe that the time it will take to transport them to the hospital and have blood drawn will lessen their BAC. that is, incidentally, a myth. BAC continues to rise for up to two hours after the last gulp. the obvious variables being amount of food consumed and drinking history, i.e., liver damage. so, yes, it was within DoUgIe's rights to request a blood test; his reasoning, however, are clearly less than...pure, IMO, of course.
His reasoning was he was drunk...end of story.

How many drunks would admit that they are drunk? Most of the people won't admit or they deny it.

Piney sure admits it and then hp_fa posts something about how he shouldn't be drinking or something like that...all i hear is blah blah blah blah

Hey you guys Keep Your Eye on the ball. We have no business caring judging or wasting our breathe on Mr. Parkers beverage of choice. We all need to focus on our paychecks, health benefits(lack of benefits0,vacation pay,etc etc. He is a jack-rabbit and we the grey-hounds are in pursuit of him. No Thank You I personally want a contact a better airline great employees and my due diligence for a well performed job. Your union leaders???????? have the power to negotiate HOLD THEM RESPOSIBLE.......As flight attendants we could be facing the gillotine of our Pilots

We need to stop all this garbage regarding Parker and concentrate on the company and what it does. His problem with the authorities is over and done with and it's time to move on and stop regurgitating it. Move on to the important things we can control, like our own futures.

agreed, but parker IS the problem!!

I will agree that he may be one of the problems ,but it is the people directly under him namely Christ,Kirby and the like who are more involved in the day to day stuff that are the real architects of the disaster. Namely the A/C reconfig etc. I was onboard a 321 yesterday and it is pathetic. Didn't these idiots in Tempe ever learn that there are 4 seasons. And that in winter people wear winter coats? Where are they supposed to put them. If you are sitting in F/C , there are 10 hanger spots for 16 seats. If you hang 4 suit jackets the seats in the last row of F/C can't recline without crushing the jackets if they recline at all. Also the A/C can no longer make it from coast to coast without a refueling stop. Will those responsible be fired or promoted? If past experience is our teacher they will be promoted. Just more of the same, a bunch of recent business school graduates with no practical experience or knowledge and no clue about the airline business. Just more of the same FUMU.

Dougie's mgmt team truly is "The Gang the Couldn't Shoot Straight". there is very little that they have done that has gone according to plan and in most cases they have made a mess of things. We can run the list of what they screwed up on , Can someone please tell me what they have done right?

Promoted of Course. Fired would be an admission of being wrong. We all know that Tempe management doesn't want to be responsible for their actions.

I'm sure that you can all but guarantee that not one of these geniuses has ever worked at the airport , has never talked to a passenger , let alone a gold or a silver, and really has no clue what effect or reaction their executive decisions will cause. It all looks good on paper. They may not see pax booking away , because we are appealing to the ma & pa kettle with their glad trash bag carryon ,and they are filling the ac rather than the premium pax who are leaving by the hundreds because they have had and seen enough of this circus. Is this the type of pax we want to attract, the lowest common denominator. Why do AA, CO, DL, and UAL have no problem keeping their premier pax? Because they know something Tempe has no clue about , HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BEST CUSTOMERS!

The aircraft can, and does more often than not, make the transcon trip more often than not. It's the A320 that we FF's "in the know" avoid Westbound transcons....

According to flightaware.com since 1/4/07 (all PHL-LAX):
#1417 made a stop on 2/4 at MCI
#1421 made a stop on 5/11 at LAS
#1423 hasn't made a fuel stop
#735, an A320, has made several fuel stops since April.

Hmmm.....Lets see. 133 days, 4 flights a day, thats 532 flight operations and a handful of fuel stops and this makes the whole change a cluster F$%#? Even if F735 made 10 fuel stops, it still means that we made the flight non-stop 520 times.

While I agree that the operational limits of the airplane are a potential problem, the bean counters will always throw these kinds of numbers at you to rationalize the idea.

Very, very true. (And I would be willing to let Mr Parker booze it up all he wants if he would let us have Sabre back 😀 😛 )

It is all speculation, but, perhaps the problem is, we do not see where Parker is taking us.

I mean, could it be possible that, say, Virgin America is looking for a "low cost" carrier they can buy as soon as they gain credibility with Congress? (with the slotting that just happened, it would be funny to see a three year wonder captain at HP get slotted behind a three hour captain at Virgin America.)

We are like blind people attempting to describe an elephant, little realizing we are seeing only one part at a time.
