Philly Reserves being offered TDY to Washington base in Dec

TDY for the whole month is a good thing. You would be given 90 hours plus perdium.

If this is from the 17th of December you would only be guaranteed half 45 hours I would assume.

Why would you do this?????

This is NOT a good thing for anybody if it is not the 90 hours.

Hey n00b, you’ll be missing out on a whole bunch of babes with those parameters.

I'm serious though...I'd love to have lunch with anyone sitting ready reserve because I'd be...
A) More likely to be on base.
B) Flying out to somewhere.
C) Had no classes so headed to DCA to chill.

Ready reserve must be a west thing, we have nothing called ready reserve. We're always ready.

Probably is...it's a Mesa term for sure 😉

I'll rephrase "if your in DCA and have NOTHING better to do hit me up"

If it's only 2 weeks instead of the 4 weeks, you would get 10 hours over guarantee so you're paid for 83 hours X your hourly rate . Then take the 15 days of perdiem X 24 hours X $1.90 and you roughly come up w/ around $680 in perdiem alone and that doesn't even count what you fly the first two weeks of the month. If I were based in PHL, I'd do it in a heart beat.

If the F/A group is so up in arms over the current contract, WHY would any F/A concerned with work rules, Reserve issues, etc etc etc even think of doing a TDY assignment???? Remember a union is only as strong as its weakest member.

If you want a better contract you have to hit them hard right in the pocket book. TDY allows them to get off the hook and not pay for their poor management decisions and treating you like crap. Cancelled flights due to lack of crew HURT and hurt alot.

Folks, contracts like fare rules are written in the company's favor in most cases. You ALWAYS do your job and obey the rules until you can bend them to your liking. I know of no contract that disciplines for failing to be a "Company Man/Woman" and doing all kinds of extra stuff like ETB trips and TDY over a holiday.

Work your trips, smile, be pleasant and let the company do what they get paid for which is to manage the company. If you're not required to work, DON'T! Your kid won't remember that cool video game you bought with the extra money you earned on TDY but he or she WILL remember the time you spent with them instead of bailing out a smug, arrogant and disrespectful Management Team by working ETB or TDY assignments.
Totally agree however ...If know one signs up for TDY they can assign it to you...so it will happen anyway

If our WORTHLESS union would put something out explaining exactly what you would be getting, maybe we would know.

All you have to do is look in that thing called a "contract." There is a whole section on TDY, all I did was go there and read it, do you need to be spoon fed everything?

easy there.....common sense will get you labled a kool aid drinker

Do you keep your same schedule?
Yes, you keep your same RSV days that you bid for...plus if you ETB before being awarded TDY, you can keep those trips in your own base and then also pick up trips in your TDY base.
I know there's another thread about "don't fly ETB in DEC" but between TDY and ETB you could really clean up and get ahead on bills...wouldn't it be nice to get a decent pay check for once ???
Check out Page 11-20 of the contract.

Regardless of what you think, the WORTHLESS union STILL needs to put something out.
We should not have to SEARCH for this information.

Anyway, they are only offering 8-10 TDY positions according to the union.

They are only offefing 8 to 10? Are you serious? I thought it was a bigger number than that. It's not even worth my time looking in the contract for this.
