Pilots to start major disruptions

The question is: will "Just Do Your Own Job" continue until the pilots get a unified contract, or until the whole property is fixed? If Tempe can buy the pilots off with a few bucks, then it's back to business as usual. The usual modus operandi is to get 51% to vote in favor by sweetening the pot for some of the senior folks, and scaring the bottom with furloughs.

Well when you can't make your commute home after a four day you can blame your friendly pilots. Bunch of arrogant as*hol**. They never think of anyone but themselves. The rest have also suffered with cutbacks. The f/as shouldn't even offer a bottle of water to these motherfu**ers.

You can stick that bottle of water. We are NOT doing a sick out idiot. We are just doing our job. Think about this if we get a raise you will get a raise. Once again you can stick that bottle. Have you ever fought for anything in your life? Has nothing to do with arrogance. Why dont you run your big mouth to the next pilot you see As#@#@#.

Sunday in PHX had 27 cancellations by 1030. Monday night going into LAS from PHX, plane was delayed 1/2 hr because mtnce was on board fixing 'every little thing" like toilet paper holders, minutia little things, that could have been fixed later (not no-go items) 😱

Yeah that would be CHAOS. LOL
I am guessing that our counter parts (FA's) on the east are not given this tool that we have on the west.

WE get a phone with a long extention cord(that is placed on the 1L jumpseat) to make calls to the gate agent, catering, ops, Inflight Mgt,mx, etc... if any problems arise during boarding.

I am shocked that they have not installed this with our gates in the east system? I am sure that's not Cost Effective!!!!

I hope they do for all our sakes.... But then again it keeps flight attendants from there (assigned - duties)...

I'd rather have the additional flight attendant, thanks. 😉

How can a customer tell if the delay is due to "Work to rule" on just the normal everyday cluster that is US opps?

In the larger perspective, it doesn't matter. Either way the airline will begin to look less and less attractive to passengers. When the load factors begin to go south of historically lowest SWA, and profits evaporate, then the BOD may finally make the needed changes.

The question is: Would US be able to recover from this situation? Yes. With proper management, it could be turned back around. Of course, no one here has a clue as to exactly what proper management of an airline actually is. I haven't seen this airline properly run since February, 1987.

Bob this place is not made to run by the book.If we all did it,youd think it melted down again, and I mean just by the book. The company incourages short cuts. B) B) B)

Everyone is always so worried about "will US Airways make it".

Look. We either fly airplanes, tow airplanes, fix airplanes, F/A airplanes (or whatever F/As want to call it, direct airplanes, or whatever airplanes.

Newsflash: There will always be a crisis at US Airways.

As a Union laborer, you can decide for yourself if what you are making and how you've been treated is sufficient. If so, great. If not, okay then.

Exercise your right as part of the Collective Bargainng Unit.

That Negotiating Committee that Daquiri Doug has been snubbing at the table for months now... yeah that one... it's not there for show. It serves a purpose. Give them something to talk about at the table because Douggie has obviously been to busy at the bar to bargain.

Time to belly up Doug, you scum.

Just arrived in CLT from rainy PHL. How many times are the f/a's gonna have to run through the Gdamn cabin doing headcounts and open seats before and AFTER the wing. Here is the "do YOUR own job" again. Why do we have to run up and down the aisle when we are to be in our seats to do this? Shouldn't this be done at the gate. I do know some captains are going back to the gate and letting it get squared away. It's BS that after all this time weight and balance isn't correct. I'm over it. It's simple to do but why the hell do we have to do this for a system that doesn't work? Are we gonna have to do this forever?

Yes we will continue to have to do this bulls##t as long as we have an antiquated res system...I(gate agt) cannot close out flts unless we do this craziness...in Saber it could be worked out after pushback...now?????? 🙁

Well I have experienced the "fly by the book" on both of my last two trips. Pilots would NOT call the agent for dupe seats. It was annoying but I TOTALLY understood and agreed. I also tried my hardest to get some folks reseated that were seperated. I had no luck whatsoever and they were PO'd to say the least. I sent two sets of folks back up the jetway with their bags. We then had the agent come down ready to close the door with 8 seats open. She said there WERE nonrevs there but the tower instructed her to close and push the flight. Well, the captain said, "That's not gonna happen". Oh yeah there was a elderly gentleman in a wheelchair from 1pm that was still sitting there. It was now 4pm. She was NOT going to put this man on the flight to TPA. Is this what were running here? The captain said he knew she was having a tough time getting the job done due to Shares but these are OUR people and need to get home. Then on arrival last night in PHL around 11:30 we sat out on the taxiway, nobody to marshall us in and then no agent. All of the 26 folks making their connections at 10:45pm didn't make it. As the crew got off we heard all this yelling and commotion. Well, US Airways said it was weather and were NOT giving rooms. My god we sat forever due to US Airways not mother nature. I hope the pilots, agents, rampers, flight attendants and ALL do ONLY what they are to do and nothing more. WATCH this place crumble. The days of "getting it done" are O-V-E-R. I was so embarrased to have that uniform on and I LOVE my job.

And that is why I no longer fly on US. As a paying customer - who flys every week - I don't really care who's job it is - that isn't my concern. And if the employees all want to fight with each other and get nothing done - so be it - but I certainly am not going to pay to be inconvienced by that. Other airline employees have taken pay cuts as well - and are no where near as mean, nasty and unhelpful as US employees. And yes - that is a generalization - but it is the truth more often than not - so live with it. Some of you are nice - and I say get the heck out of dodge if you can - because the majority of US employees are going to take the company down along with the new management.

Thank you for posting your feelings. I hope Tempe reads it maybe then they will see that the front line is pissed. They are creating our mood and we are fed up with their inability to run an airline. Status quo is not an option. Sooner or later they will take their head out of their A$$.

i agree with hawk hunter , this IS the result we have been looking for , and we are at last starting to make a negative impression on the general public , do you HEAR HQ?Unhappy workers= unhappy coustmers .

p.s we are not fighting each other , but actually starting to work together ! GO TEAM GO!

NHBB,

Most of what you say is spot on, except for the FF's will return. I can assure you we most certainly will NOT return.

Enough is enough, and more than ever, people who have been loyal to this company for a decade or more, have asked us to find a new airline for them.

The revenue loss, if (when) it happens, will unfortunately be permanent.
Art,

I heard it said today in PHL that they know they will lose a lot of FF but that it was ok. In a year or two they would be back. What a bunch of arrogant SOB's!!!
