They delayed the displacements for one month to look at other solutions. Did they ever make a decision as to what they are doing. I am sure knowing this place, nothing will be done and the one month reprieve was just a stall tactic. Inflight management does not care about the people here. Just look at their track record.

The MEC e-line that announced the one month reprieve said that folks would be informed at the beginning of May ......and still no word.
At the first meeting in PIT Sherri Shmblin said that the recalls would be on the property trained and ready to go by June 1st....oooops, now they will be in training starting June 1 and hopefully ready to go by July 1.
The union has been trying to work on alternatives for the remaining folks that did not leave PIT June 1 ----10 people went ahead and took the displacement on June 1 as scheduled.
I think the company has been reeling from the ALPA debacle...
Maybe they'll just forget about it and leave us alone in PIT.....that would be the right thing to do.........I know, wishful thinking.

Yes. Look.

In response to CLT whining, they decided to recind and "bring back furloughees".

It is a sad company that treats one segment of their employee group different than the rest.

I say, displace the CLT folks, just like the rest. Make us all the same.

Nope, that won't happen---it makes too much sense.

If I were based in PIT I would have come to terms with the fact that the base is closing, whether its now or in three years or five. 39 flights a day does not warrant even a miniscule crew base nor does a pretty airport. The 'focus city' is smaller than Washington, most of the service is Express and even thats being cut. Even the EAS cities are going away. The next merger, regardless of who, will reduce Pittsburgh to an outstation. Not bashing, and not trying to be harsh, but PIT is not part of the plan, and people should get used to the idea.

It's not the same as the PIT displacements. PIT lost tons of time, most of which it will never see again. CLT has seasonal fluctuations, and the theory was they (CLT) would again be understaffed. Big difference there.

Also, in that CLT whining session, it was not just CLT FA's. All bases go to CLT for training, so it was a collective "whine".

One of the reasons we all stay here until they do close PIT is that it's heck of a lot easier to get in the car, drive to the airport and check in for our trips than to try to get a seat to commute to PHL. We have a lot of people here that would like to go to CLT but it's not open...most of us have come to terms with it.Our arguement regarding the displacements is that if PIT AND CLT BOTH will be overstaffed until January 2008 then why is it fair to not displace people with 10 years and displace people with 18+ years ? In addition, they said that they would offer VPLOAs in CLT but not in PIT ? While we never expect PIT to be the size it was we just want to be treated fairly. It would be one thing if PIT was going to be overstaffed and CLT wasn't--but they both are. While I am happy for those in CLT that did not get displaced, seniority between two admitted overstaffed bases should have been considered....at least until January 2008 when more time is put back in CLT. I think you would feel the same if you were based here. Keep in mind that as of the July displacements, the most junior person in PIT will have 20 years seniority....and there are 500 people more senior than that.
I honestly think that everyone with less than 20 years would want to keep us all here.

I see your point here. VPLOAs should be offered systemwide.

No leaves will be offered in any base for the month of July per a CBS.

Did they offer any in CLT for June?
