Rampers Cheating The Company?

You want to go to lunch off premise - clock out.

Going to Wendys,McD's and of the fast food joints along University Dr is no problem in the alloted 1/2 hr lunch. As for clocking out for lunch, I would love the idea!!! For years workig the line your lunch would be interrupted for a call, you would return and have to fight to be paid a late lunch. Then lunch periods were assigned and some turned off radios since they were at lunch....just imagine how that went over!! Yes there are abusers on both union and managment side of the system!! Appreciate you not lumping all employee's together in that category!! What about the golf leagues that used to happen o company time? I can go on and on......

No need to take the employee bus if all you're going to do is clock in and leave. Had someone I know get terminated for this (among other things). Dont forget at most airports there are cameras almost everywhere including the hotel parking lot connected to the building. It also doesnt hurt to PAY to park there instead of trying to sneak out. They arent as generous in letting things go unnoticed.

Etops1 & Planejane, Send me a note with relevant info on the employees that are abusing the system. The source will be held in strict confidence.

I would never supply anyone with info like that. The info is that people are abusing the system. Management knows it's happening and look the other way. This type of action tears at the morale of the good employees. The good U employees deserve better. Maybe it will come from HP management. The culture must change or U will not survive.

Also, most employee parking lots keeps tabs of cars leaving with cameras and computers. I know of employees who were terminated for falsifying time cards and got caught using parking lot records.

Number one, if your leaving the airport you can have friends covering each other. Number 2, if you have a crashpad by the airport you could use their transportation to get there rather quickly in PHL. Number 3, I just sat in the breakroom talking to a few rampers in CLT and they said that they were suspecting someone of leaving the B terminal and going to someplace on D and sleeping. The one guy said he was going to go there with a video camera and video the person sleeping. This was just last week. They were all rowled up. I'm sure management knows it's going on. Now all of the flight attendants are thieves. LOL.... thats real nice.

... and Moon is not so small depending on what neighborhood your travelling to sir. It's gotta be hard to get to Wendys and back in the time allotted. Don't sit there and try to protect the people who have been abusing the system all these years. This lose your job and get it back because your a union member is going to be the death of this new company. Abusers need to go. LUNCH is 1/2 hr is it not? What is work brain for? Only time in and at the end of day time out?
The new U needs to review this system....... You want to go to lunch off premise - clock out.

Moon is very easy to navigate. It can be done.

But yet management (RIDC) can come to work at 8 am and start planning lunch or haircuts, and take 1 1/2 hours and that's OK? I don't think so. Their work day is scheduled for 8 1/2 hours. Seems that only a half hour is allotted. What's fair is fair.

Oh, but that is where there is a huge difference. The mgmt is not union and does not have a contract. You cannot just enforce the contract against MANAGEMENT--the contract can be enforced against YOU as well. Certain terms were negotiated and they work for and against you. That's what happens when you are in a union.

Also, not to support management, but management probably isn't getting paid for staying late or on a weekend. And, if management is not there when they are needed, they should be held responsbible for not doing their work--they, however, are employees at will likely and can be easily fired. Look, I am a non-union person who does get haircuts during my regular work day. I also run errands. But, I am working very late at night often, travel a ton, work weekends, etc., etc. and my secretary has my cell phone if a client needs to speak to me--it's a lot different. I'm tired of waiting over an hour for my bags in PHL--if that is because a ramper has decided to hang out at someone's crash pad--FIRE THEM!

If a ramper was not on the gate when the plane was there management would all ready know and have taken action.

You people amaze me. You are taking one FAs word and blaming the whole PHL fiasco on unsubstantiated rumors.

That's where the difference is between you and some people out in RIDC. They don't work weekends or nights. Hell, the parking lot is almost cleared out by 3:30 so they can beat traffic on the parkway. Some of them are lucky if they put in a good 20 hours of real work for the week.

Stealing is stealing, I have witnessed and I bet many F/As have a nice mini-bar.

And there are more F/As taking water and soda then PHL rampers not being at work while on the clock.

My.....My.....What a surprise to see 700 "ATTACKING". and "INSULTING" one of his fellow "union" groups.....ACCUSING them, (F/A's), of stealing on a PUBLIC forum.....well, 700, I suppose the "union brotherhood" label only goes as far as YOU deem it neccessary

You are a disturbed individual....Me thinks it may be time for you to move on to bigger and better things......IF you are able....

First of all I don't work the ramp in PHL so I have no idea if it is occuring or not.

Too much time in a pressurized tube has really effected your thought process.
