Rampers Cheating The Company?

to their defense. i was told that they hired to many rampers in phl. so there are alot of rampers sitting around and getting paid because there is no work. so they decide to just leave for a few hours and come back. it's a big problem that needs to be addressed . maybe they should stop hiring so many people and cut a few . i also was told that the leads are 99% worthless. but something's got to give because this can't continue. and whats the matter 700. afraid i might have exposed what the real problem is in phl. don't get me wrong i do not totally blame the rampers. i blame management as well for letting it go for too long. and for hiring to many rampers.

So if it is happening why did you post it on the Internet for the whole world to see?

And I doubt it is happening, if you are on the clock and leave too easy to get caught.

I can see how a cop or a mailman or a garbage man might find a way to crash during the day with nobody finding out; afterall, they are out on the streets and essentially unsupervised.

I cannot see how an airport worker could go in and out of security routinely in order to crash at an offsite pad and not be detected. I can't see how his coworkers would put up with doing his job without complaint.

Sounds like baloney to me.

Don't forget they have flights to work or a drop in and you have to take a bus to the employee parking lot which is on the opposite of the airport.

Sounds like a pot stirring story to me.

Who told you they were overstaffed? That is the funniest thing I have ever heard!!! Just keep trying to stir the pot!!! You will have to do better than "overstaffed"!!!

your naive to think otherwise. they all help each other out. it's happening ok. more than you think. this is one of the reasons why we went into bk. because employees were raping the company. blame goes all the way around here . from management to the most junior employee. should i have posted this on the internet. maybe not. i was thinking about it. but its needs to be known so that something can be done about it. this sh##'s got to stop. find work for these guys to do. if there is no work.send them home with no pay. do not keep them there all day for 8 hours to work only 2 flts. that's bs.

PHL is understaffed, they can't hire enough and the ones that do get hired don't last.

Too much time at Altitude Etops1?

Reasons why we went into bankruptcy?

Dude you are totally clueless.

A friend in PIT said he sees a stores guy come home for lunch almost everyday. Now how does someone do that when it takes at least 15 minutes to get to his house (drive time only) who knows how long it takes him to get to his car and workplace) eat and get back - all in - whats your lunch - 1/2hr??? Says he sees him at home sometimes for an hour. This has been going on for well over 3 years and still continues.

What say you 700?

The I work hard not to work ethic is strong in PIT from some aspects......

If it happens managment can catch it easily, sounds like more urban legends to me.

So the ENTIRE ramp must complicit in this cheat. All are either doing it, don't care or are scared to talk, even anonymously?

uh one of the rampers did as just about 10 minutes ago as he was preparing to go to work. listen i am not trying to stir any thing here. these are things that are being said to me by rampers themselves ok. they say its a big joke and that its happening alot. do they like doing it no .but they say they have no ther choice since everyone else does it. so if they don't do it. they are considered the bad guy. . its total bs. you do not have to beleive me if you want but iam just relaying what is being said to me.

Don't let the facts get in your way!

Are these FSA transfers from other cities, or agents that were hired in PHL and use a crash pad instead of going home?

Bottom line is you must enter or exit an AOA area through a secure door which when you swipe your badges registers your number. How are they doing this without getting caught? Going through a hole in the fence? Taking a big chance for a nap!! Finding a place at work to which nap between flights , now I am sure that happens all the time. Just too many ways in which to track an employee's history with all the security in place anymore. Sure you can beat it but is there that great a number of employee's who will risk employment just for a nap?

No fish stories here. I can PM you the name, address of so called culprit. This is not a friend of a friend story. They live in Moon Twp among a lot of U people. They have heard all the union stories and live among them all. The wife is home most of the day and very involved in school activities. When she hears F/A at soccer games laughing - I should be in PHL right now, but I'm sick, it make the non U public nauseaus when they hear the cry babies cry. It's real and obviously mgt is looking the other way.
And don't beat the paycuts, etc, etc......I feel for you, but you people need to band together to get this crap straight - union brother or not!
