What's new

Recalls beginning

can't be no one on the west side is on furlough

It's official FCYTravis. There's a new East pilot bid hot off the presses - covers May & Jun - that says there will be 55 pilots coming back.

For the furloughed pilots a disclaimer - those 55 will be coming from the combined EVLA and furlough. I don't know what the breakdown coming from each group is expected to be.

For everyone else - primarily the F/A group - there is an increase of 34 lines. The reductions are primarily on the 737/A319 while the additions are on the 75/76 as could be expected. That should mean that the F/A group will see a larger increase in the number of lines than the pilots (about 34 per position).

Holy crap! That is great news for US-east. Now, what about the furloughed folks that accepted training for US-west. Do they get to get recalled?

55 Pilot recalls but NO flight attendant recalls in the East is what I was just told by Inflight. I guess he is refering to the classes in PHX for AW. We are overstaffed in the East so this increase in time will just absorb the excess.

Those people would be stuck on the West for 365 days. If they accepted a position at AWA, they cannot come to the East until after their 365 days. That would mean there would have to be another recall after that. As USairboy said, there is no recall to the East for F/As.

this is excellent , excellent news!!!!!. maybe we can finally hold a block. we really need this!!! this has been a positive week for usairways. well except the iam crap . but all in all go US!!!

After some time studying the bid, here are the specific changes for pilots. The F/A's will have to interpret this into flight attendant changes. I.E. a loss of 1 pilot line/position on the 737 equals a loss of 3 F/A lines. It's the 75/6 I vs D, 330, and 321 that make it harder to come up with an exact number for F/A's).

[Bases/Equip with no changes are not listed]

PHL 330 +3 lines/position
PHL 76I +10 lines/position
PHL 75D +7 lines/position
PHL 737 -2 lines/position
PHL 319 +13 lines/position

PIT 737 -2 lines/position

CLT 76I -7 lines/position
CLT 76D +7 lines/position
CLT 737 -1 line/position
CLT 319 +6 lines/position

DCA 737 -2 lines/position

[Edit to add] this is the change from the Feb bid to June. The changes will be occur on May 1 and Jun 1.

I understand that the 737 reductions are due to paint shop activity, not permanent reduction. Hopefully with this bid recall and the E190 deliveries we will bring back our furloughed guys/gals soon.
Go Doug!

Well from the way the transition agreement reads most a/c except for maybe a few on the west side that were scheduled to be returned have left. Considering the overstaffing that is happening on the east side I don't expect to see invols comming back that soon. Maybe as the E-190's come on like or a bit later.

55 pilots will be recalled on the new bid for May/June.
