You can talk about every Christian Infraction from Columbus to the Conquistadors being barbarians while the Mayans pored gold down their throats in retribution. You all do know that this all was over 1500 years ago.

Hope this does not shatter your dreams, but this ‘discussion’ is not about a debate of VS-VS.

It is about the ‘here and now’ of the ‘Religion of Peace’.

Surely, I am no expert, but having ‘lived’ in SA for over two years, I am sure my ‘insight’ might be somewhat better than most of you here. I could tell you stories that would bust your sides, and some that would make you cry, and 2 that would scare the #### out of you.

Instead of responding to the OP statement, it became ‘yet’ another Christian bashing all the while deflecting the subject.

There has not been ‘one’ religion that was not used to justify war, killing, and subjugation. The Romans were pagans and idol worshipers, during the Japanese war, the soldiers prayed to Budda as they committed kamikaze attacks.

No doubt that the Christian religion was used to serve ‘dastardly’ deeds (most have a sordid past).

The ‘repeated’ posting of what Christians did while not confronting the OP leads me to believe that because ‘so called’ Christians have committed atrocities in Jesus’ name that you all are OK with the Muslims murdering and terrorizing ‘every one else’.

I find this hypothesis childish and dangerous.

So, let us get back on track. Do you all think that Islam is a religion of peace or not?

I do not think any religion is a religion of peace except maybe the Buddhist. I cannot think of any wars or atrocities that they have committed.

I have no use for religion. I treat others as I wish to be treated. I do not see the need for a reward in some supposed afterlife. I do not understand why some think that god is on their side as they slay another human being in name of war.

I think Lenin(?) had it right when he said "Religion is the opiate of the masses".

Thank you for your ‘personal’ commentary, but I see you fail to read the ‘discussion’ (see post above yours regarding Buddhists).

JMHO, this is a discussion concerning the OP statement and we do not G.A.S. as to your ‘personal’ choice of religion and/or the philosophy thereof.

ALL religion is man made, therefore by definition flawed. You so called Christians love to call the pot black and you get defensive whenever someone puts a mirror in your face.
Is Islam a religion of peace? If you judge it by the actions of a few, no. That would also depend on who's interpretation or translation of the Quran or the Hadeeth you read. Personaly I could care less but I don't blame anyone for picking up an RPG defending their homeland against invaders.
What about Judaism? Should we label all Jews as Chistian haters and Christ killers? The Talmud could be interpreted many ways also. Am I an anti-semite now?
What makes you think people want to leave their families, homelands and traditions to deal with the likes of you yanquis, if it were not for extenuating circumstances. In many cases these circumstances are created and or fomented by yanqui imperialism and the lackey sell out ruling elites in our native lands.
