You dont own the poll, you posted it, it belongs to the board, I posted the poll as I wanted too, because the TWU and the IAM are the two unions on the property.

If you dont like it, dont read it or put me on ignore.

Baggage handlers don't get an opinion on this topic..

Not a baggage handler, and when buy this board and take ownership, you can make the rules, so anyone can post here and have an opinion, so once again if you dont like it, dont read it or put me on ignore.

Man you got me.

Ok, I made the poll, you made yours, however I have made a financial contribution to this forum, it does not appear that you have. I guess that I am a lot closer to owning my poll than you are to yours. Please contribute to this site so we are on the same level in regards to ownership.

And you tell people to grow up.....

You're not an A&P IIRC, what kind of hybrid catagory do you put yourself in then? I believe you were essentially a non skill job type. Here's my problem with your types attempting to dictate AMTs choice of union. Your types are pretty much the kind of guys - who when you were looking for work - the only reason you're working at an airline is because they called you before Burger King did. Then you weasle your way into the union heiarchy - not unlike the current local 514 leaders in Tulsa. Then in an attempt to maximize dues payers numbers and keep the AMTs down, you pull out all the stops. AMTs at AA are tired of being lost in the mix. The TWU, IAM, and the Teamsters are one in the same. Not unlike you, overspeed, raptortool, anomaly et al.

As long as someone is under the same class and craft, I guess you dont understand the concept of mechanic and related.

I was utility then a stock clerk which at US Airways is under the mechanic and related.

And the and related have a vote just like everyone else.

And one's classification has nothing to do with their education and knowledge when it comes to collective bargaining, and the grievance procedure, now does it?

I have had more training and experience and have held numerous positions, RS of my local, editor, district communicator, shop steward and negotiator, I have been on the NC for US M&R and CO's FAs.

So explain to me how a utility or a stock clerk's vote doesnt mean as much as an amt?

Or how does being a mechanic make one's education and knowledge superior?

You are an elitist and how did that work out for AMFA at NW?

They got their rear end's handed to them.

Unfortunately an A&P doesnt carry the weight and clout it once did thanks to the Timco's of the world.

But you wont even understand that.

Oh and by the way, the Department of Labor does not classify the A&P as skilled labor.

Let me give you a little history, back in 92 we were in our 30 day cooling off period, in the T/A utility and stores got a great deal and they were trying to screw the APs, we as utility and stores stuck by the mechanics and voted the CBA down and went on strike so the mechanics wouldnt get screwed.

Would you mind explaining that to Raptor man?

Say no more, you can't have the same interests. There it is the "elitist" comment. What is elitist, is the people at the NMB and or DOL who lump anybody that does anything around an airplane like cleaning as being enough to justify being in the mechanics classification. That is the kind of BS we AMTs are tired of. Your industrial unions have had plenty of chances to rectify the situation. Why should they though? Not when they can use the "and related" fears against the AMTs.

Don't talk to me about AMFA at NWA, my brother was an AMT there, so I know first hand what went down - and why!
Your union titles and experience and a dime will get you what?
Reminds me of Jim Little and his Diploma Mill degree.
We have covered the government skill classifications of A&P mechanics to death on this BB - A&Ps are not classified as un-skilled.
If it's so easy, why not have the baggage handlers fix the planes?

And once again, you fail to answer what was asked of you.

I can't believe you used to represent mechanics, seeing the hatred you hold for them. In every post that you talk about AMFA, you seem to take pleasure in saying that they failed. Is this what unionism is to you?
