Republic Deal Complete

CHQDRVR,

Your welcome at US/HP any old time, and that goes for everyone at your airline. Please don't take any of this as a personal attack on you or others at your airline. The reason everyone is so upset is due to the lack of ethics and representation on the part of our company and ALPA. Also, we are incensed at the willingness of pilots to leap from the backs of others to willingly and knowingly degrade the profession in regard to pay and QOL. The Embraer 190 is a 737-200 size airline with 2,000 usable range. It shouldn't for anyone in any color pay a captain less than 70% of that dollar figure.

The MDA deal is that ALPA lied to us, has acted with U mgmnt in collusion against their own members, and was until we obtained outside representation, willing to write us off as acceptable casualties in the battle to keep themselves whole.

Most if not all at MDA would be happy to fly along side CHQ/IBT pilots, but won't settle for a paste to the bottom and yet another pay cut. Thats good for you all as well. Its not like the MDA pilots would be bringing 25 aircraft and 600 pilots to screw you guys. MDA would be bringing 25 aircraft, the min staffing to go with those aircraft, routes, and the ability to get quickly additional aircraft which would make your airline grow faster. In return, these guys expect at least relative position for bidding, after all we are bringing our own airplanes, its not like anyone is being displaced to make this happen. Also, the MDA pilots want longevity for purposes of pay and vacation, how many times can one start at the bottom, first year, no vacation, new hire for the same airline, in the same colors, wearing the same uniform, and the same hat brass???

Its a win/win, but with two unions involved it will never end up that way. You are welcome in my jumpseat anytime, and I appreciate the CHQ jumpseat everytime one of your crews is graceous enough to allow it (which has been always).

All the best,

SH

AWA pilots have the final say about E190 flying. I helped the former MEC vice chairman research the new Embraer jets to come up with the exact figure which is now in the AWA CBA. AWA pilots will not let CHQ, Mesa or even Santa Clause touch an E190 in U/HP colors. Period. I don't know the U CBA too well but it seems the J4J/LOA deal was very specific and limited to the MDA arrangement. I'm sure the U pilots are just as feverishly committed as AWA pilots are to stopping any further encroachment by the juniors into mainline flying. This sh*t is going to stop right here, right now.

I totally agree with your sentiment, but be warned. HP is bringing aboard senior execs to make sure "this sh*t" does happen, just as it happened at US.

Aqua, you are absolutely right, and as a furloughed U guy, I commend the resolve shown at HP. The U MEC cracked open a pandora's box with this 25 190 deal at Rep...and it is imperative that you guys close it tight. There must be a line drawn on the continued outsourcing of flying..period..to "regionals", but especially a narrowbody sized airlplane???gimmie a break. I emplore you guys to hold strong at HP on this..

Elixir:

I along with many other of the younger generation flying at AWA feel for you AAA guys and gals. I think I speak for many of my colleagues when I say that nobody is looking for an unfair leg up with the integration. We've been crapped on for so long that what we all want most is (1) a retirement and (2) ALL OF THE EMB170/190 flying! I MEAN ALL OF IT! With mainline doing all the flying then the sooner all of the furloughees come back. It's that simple. It sounds like the two MECs are in the ballpark as to integration. I say let the arbitrator clean up the details and then together the two groups get on with the important stuff: pay, scope and retirement. Older AWA pilots are still without a reasonable retirement and the AAA pilots have given up so much. Young guys at both companies have suffered at the expense of unwise (and unprofitable) outsourcing. It's time to get back what has been wasted.

Look forward to seeing you and all the other committed AAA pilots. We are soon to be one pilot force and I pray it's a pilot force to be reckoned with.

I can't tell you how grateful my friends and I are for the opportunity to get back to the "real world". I know that everybody's been wrung-out over the last 3-4 years..and we've all paid a huge price. Me, divorce and bankruptcy...similar for several others. I personally cant wait to get recalled to the line and get back to where we all want to be... I look forward to a great airline capitalizing on all available strengths....thanks for your and your cactus friends efforts in that regard.

See ya soon, I hope

Elixir

PS: regarding "leg-upping", EVERYONE I know just wants a leg to stand on...not to one-up our friends at HP....

See ya

Spoke briefly with JR Baker, AWA MEC Chair, last night at the ceremony and he told me point blank it's looking like ALL of the E-Jets are coming over! Yes...you heard right...ALL OF THEM!

THis is an enormously important issue for several reasons. First, there's a bunch of MAINLINE pilots on furlough. I suppose retirement attrition will probably go through that deep list in four or five years, but that still is way unacceptable. Considering the E-Jets are anything but regional jets, considering that Embraer isn't even marketing the type as a puddle jumper jet, considering it looks and feels like a mainline jet to passengers, then there is only one place where any of them belong and that's on MAINLINE. Even the 170s. Bringing them to OUR list would result in how many pilots being recalled? I'm guessing all the MDA pilots right off the bat and then many more for the E190s the company wants to get so badly. That's what...500 pilots plus probably another 500 in the near future as additional E-jets show up?

One more tidbit...I guess discussions are going well between both MECs. JR indicated that an arbitrator will not be necessary. That's terrific. We need to get this done and then get on with the important stuff: retirement and the E-JETS!

Hawkhunter...thanks for the note.

-- US Airways and Republic have a signed contract for the Arlington-based airline to sell MDA, which has received bankruptcy court approval.

The above posted by USA320pilot....this is what I have been refering to that was done last week. Grievence aside...It is a done deal!!

I am not sure what all the fighting is, but I hope the pilots win whatever it is that they want. I don't understand all the LOA..........

Sabre Crew Track message from the desk of Lyle Hogg....

We have recently been advised that the transaction to sell the EMB 170 aircraft
to Republic Airways has been completed. Classes at Republic will resume on
September 27, 2005. Shortly, you will receive a letter outlining the vacancy
processing guidelines and a MDA Preference Form for pilots wishing to accept
positions at Republic Airways.

This issue has been a very emotional one for all involved. Please try to keep
your discussions on this matter out of the cockpit, particularly during the
sterile cockpit environment.

Thanks for your patience as we work our way through this process. Above all
else, please be safe.

this information as soon as it is known. Details of the Company's incentive /
retention package are
forthcoming. This issue has been a very emotional one for all involved. Please
try to stay focused,
remembering that safety and service is of utmost importance.

Republic started proving runs today. Call sign is rumored to be Brickyard. Anyone hear them on the radio today?

Heard "Brickyard" today in LGA. It took half of our 45 min taxi time to figure out who it was! - BCD

They are already flying revenue flights. aircraft #828 which is the E-170 in the star allience livery was flying on sept 4 from PHL-SYR Flight 5018 Operated by republic. And I saw it again on labor day in LGA.

Republic has both aircraft #827 and #828. They have two turns a day that come into PHL. There is one in the morning, which is the flight to SYR that GroundedBoricua is talking about. There is also flight 5005 that arrives from LGA around 19:00 and departs for IND as flight 5011 at 20:10.

They apparently have some real professionals working over there.

While Flt. 5005 was taxiing out at LGA Tuesday evening, another "Brickyard" flight was taxiing in. Whoever was manning the radios on 5005 kept trying to say 'hi' to his buddy on the other flight on a very busy, very congested LGA ground frequency.

What a maroon....
