I have managed to go through life without watching a convention or a debate. For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would want to watch one. Conventions are infomercials and debates are so scripted and uninformative as to be useless. I'd rather watch the grass grow.

I might watch the DNC if Rosanne Barr sings the Star Spangled Banner... 😛

She has changed quite a bit. Not sure if you saw her roast on Comedy central but at the end she sings the final few bars of the Star Spangled Banner. She actually has a pretty decent voice. I was surprised.

Never really followed the bruha over her original rendition so I do not know if her mishap was intentional or accidental or a combination. She was young, irreverent. Over and done with.

Since the family values folks did not get their dander up when a 20 yr rep was banging his mistress while his wife was hospitalized with cancer (who he married after cheating on his first wife) and he was leading a prosecution against a sitting president for getting a blow job while in office then proceeded to marry her as wife three who is about 20 years his junior. I seriously doubt that Eastwood would even pop up on their radar.

I know. Still find the cognitive dissonance of the Right hilarious, though.

Watched it last night. Romney said about what i expected him to say. He laid out what he believes will fix many of the issues facing the country.

Eastwood while clearly showing his advanced age in his adlibbed speech said two things that ring true. "We (the citizens of U.S.) own this country" and "If the elected officials don't do the job it's time to let them go"

I will watch the DNC as well on Obama's speech night. I am 99% sure I know what I am going to hear. Basically a rehash of his speech in 2008 with all the same themes. "The evil rich", "It's Bushes fault" etc.

I do find it comical that everytime the "You didn't build your business, Gov't did" speech comes up in a political show/interview a dem jumps up and says "He didn't say that!" Well, its on youtube and every political show out there just like "Obama not bowing to King Poobah" in the middle east or telling the russian official to let Putin know he "can be more flexible after the election" I guess the Obama supporters figure if they lie enough and say that he didn't say or do those things that people will believe them.

The way I see it we are exactly where we were 4 years ago with the exception of having the national Debt increased, and the United States credit rating downgraded. To me it's painfully clear that while probably meaning well Obama does not have a clue how to fix the issues we face. It's time for him to go. Any business in this country would fire someone for such poor performance, it's time we give Obama his pink slip.

Yes and Romney said the he likes firing people right? Give it a rest. Both statements were taken out of context just as the partial statement that Pelosi made. Yes the statements were made but the meaning is completely changed when you hear the entire statement.

All Romney said was what he wants to do. He never said squat about how he wants to do it. All we have is Ryans tax plan which is a pipe dream based on pixy dust and magic. Then again no politician will tell you how they plan on accomplishing their pipe dreams because that would piss off way too many people.
