Since the Miracle On The Hudson have you F/A's noticed more attention being paid during the safety briefings? Are passengers being maore respectful? Any changes? Just curious...

On CNN they were saying earlier for people to pay attention when we give our safety demos because they may just need to know that information even though it isn't very likely emergencies do happen and this is a perfect example. Most people don't pay attention to the safety information we give.

You are SO right - and I'm sick and tired of passengers talking and laughing and being disruptive during the safety briefings - if you don't want to listen, that's fine - but for Gods sake, shut the f*** up - it's not only a matter of respect, it could actually save lives!

Kudos to Captain, crew, passengers and responders - I'm so thankful that everyone is safe.

I dont care of the reaction but I can honestly tell you that there have been a few good times that I have actually STOPPED the live demo. I have been standing in the aisle and can barely even hear the "B" in the back talking over the PA. I put my hand up to singnal he/she to hold off on the demo. I said to the guy talking and laughing, "Are you done"? "Though you may not want to hear the emergency information others may". On top of that I said, "I can't even hear myself think". I won't tolerate it. Write a letter. 🙄 I dont care if you fly 5 times a day.

I agree. I think they should change a few things about the in flight briefing. (not necessarily the language, just the concepts). The problem I find with this briefing is that even if people listen to it, they will want to do what they think is right.

1) Federal Aviation rules prevent you from speaking during our safety briefing. Anyone caught not paying attention will be removed from this flight.

2) Take a moment to locate the nearest emergency exit keeping in mind that it may be located behind you. I'd like you to take a moment to count the rows between your seat and the emergency exit, In the event the cabin is filled with fire and smoke and you have to crawl on the floor you will at least know how far you need to go.

3) The reason WHY you shouldn't inflate the life vest while still inside the aircraft. (How many people in this flight even, could have died if the cabin filled up with water before they all got out and they ended up pinned to the roof). Did anyone see the video of the one lady getting into the ferry with the life vest sideways around her head? I'm glad she didnt need to actually use it.

4) The reason why you need to put your mask on first.

And for heaven's sake, we all know that the cabin is not pressurized for our comfort 🙂
