If some of us that choose not to wear the tie are trying to be something we're not then what is it we're trying to be? A little bit more modernized maybe? When it's said that the aviator shirt was not designed to be worn without a tie, says who? If our a/c look like they were created by photoshop and our a/c are dirty and we are down the path to being a true ghetto airine why on earth should we look so "Polished"? I am so sick and tired of hearing that word. When I hear that word it reminds me of the Impressions Of Excellense class they made us do and the wacko chick who used the term "World Class Legendary Service". Wake up and smell the coffee. If my taking my tie off makes someone want to fly a competitor instead, well the problem lies with them and not me or the company I represent. Our own CEO doesn't wear a tie all the time and he is VERY visible. For those on the east side that are stuck on an airline that is "no more" I say get ready for a lot of changes your not going to like. If you are working a slightly and i do mean slightly higher end service such as Envoy or whatever the hell its called this week I can see a tie being worn and possibly ditching it there as well. I like to think I do a great job and a tie doesnt make me look any better doing it. For the chubs, mullet wearing guys out there that can't keep their shirts tucked it or run an iron over them I say attack them. THEY are the ones who need the style guide, not someone who dithes the tie and wants to buck the trend a bit. 🙄
