What wild paint jobs can we expect at the new US Airways? Steelers plane, Pirates plane...Phoenix Coyote plane??? 😀

There should be a Steelers plane, a Carolina Panthers, PIT penguins and any other sports team we have a marketing agreement with.

Thanks, Eye,

I'd read an article about it but not seen it.

Jim

"The "Salmon-Thirty-Salmon," sporting the glimmering image of a wild Alaska king salmon, is among the world's most intricately painted commercial airplanes. Complete with shiny scales, a dorsal fin and gills, the livery on the Alaska Airlines 737-400 passenger aircraft is the result of a dedicated team of 30 painters working nearly nonstop for 24 days."

Tht is a truly amazing livery and I hope to see it in 3D someday.
Thanks for the photo.

This may answer the burning question: Is there a light at the end of the tuna? (I know that was really baaaaddd...)

Is it chicken or tuna?

BTW, when Alaska flies into Newark, I suggest a bagel airplane to go with the flying lox...perhaps with an added pitstop in Philly for cream cheese.

Gosh, they keep getting worse and worse here! 🙄

I heard that an alaska flight ran into a fish back in the eighties. an eagle dropped it in flight, and the 737 whacked it. had to make an emergency landing as i understand it. anyway, as a browns fan i strongly object to any steelers painted aircraft.

As long as this thread is already down the drain... if it's brown, flush it down. Go Steelers!!

Seriously, why not do a Steelers plane (or any other for pro sports that US has a contract for)? If it generates publicity and "talk" (aka FREE advertising), that's a good thing, no? Tempe appears to have people that are willing to think outside the box... and that's a plus in any organization I've ever seen.

How many Steelers fans would love to say they flew the Steelers plane? For that matter, how many Browns fans would fly it?

Probably not enough to actually cover the total expenses of painting it, and then eventually back again. Having the individual sports' teams pay for it is key, no different than advertisers converting city buses into moving billboards.

I would FLY the Steelers plane!

STEELERS FAN BY BLOOD!! BRONCOS FAN BY MARRIAGE!!

New team planes would be cool!! I know our Cardnial one which looks like a HUGE CANDY CANE, could use a make over.

The FLYING TUNA, what we're they thinking?
