LGA,
Small stations will be greatly affected. Right now at MCI they are talking 4-5 FT layoffs on May 2nd. Then if this T/A passes, they will contract out the cleaning on 8 overnight aircraft. That will result in losing at least 10 FT heads, bringing the total to about 15 FT jobs lost out of 32 FT positions currently. That''s almost a 50% loss in FT heads, so don''t say smaller stations will not be affected that much. In the past, when there was a layoff, they would automaticly release those on probation. Not anymore, they refuse to layoff any PTer''s. So if all you want is a PT job from AA, you might be able to hold on to it. Also the smaller stations will be dropping right and left when the Pilots T/A passes with unlimited RJ''s. The implications of these T/A''s are huge for ALL AAer''s no matter where they are. Don''t think you are safe because you are in a larger station or a hub. Layoffs and bumping will be huge.
