So Are You!!
Well said
So Are You!!
ALPA didn't "give" us anything. We got the best contracts we ever had through a combination of a healthy company, economy and good negotiating. I've always thought ALPA was given too much credit and blame for what went on here. Most of the credit/blame goes on our own pilot's shoulders.
Don't worry the 5 or 10% club explains a lot, its a universal axiom. Thanks for the words of encouragement. You shouldn't think that all of the west pilots behave like the posters on this board though. They didn't all come from Mesa.
Captain. You're actually admitting that you went ahead and took the flight "tired as hell?"
You should have called yourself off the trip...and your not so smart F/O.

Got news for you pal....flights get flown every day by crews who are exhausted, tired, fatigued
whatever buzz word you want to use.....the question is can the flight be flown safely!!! No fancy
buzz words required!!!

Thanks for the good laugh.
And we're not fighting DOH. DOH is dead and a non- factor.
You gals are fighting Nic - and losing.
Rememer, it's Nic or LOA93. Those are yourr only choices.
Suckah.

Just read the companies respose to the Dec action......they do
point out to the court that NIC places some 16-17 year employees
junior to AM west new hires WHO HAD NEVER FLOWN A REVENUE TRIP
your albatross...westies...wear it proudly. God I can't wait till we start hiring 20-30
a month...you guys are going to come UNGLUED!!!

PI is correct about ALPA. But in addition to what He said, some past managements were also cognizant of the insidious effect on moral. When Doug Parker says He want's a single pilot contract. He is telling the truth. But implicit in that truth is this, He wants a contract He can crow about, "crap for us". The flight attendants are no closer to a contract either and I assume are far more united. Some seem to think we would be in the rose garden with ALPA as our CBA. This point of view is directly proportional to how USAPA is viewed. If Doug Parker wants a contract it could happen in a few months. They could craft a deal that would expire when the seniority dispute is resolved. One contract benefiting all while separate. It would require some creativity and cooperation, but with a will it could be done. I have seen no will whatsoever. What I see is a management team that loves LOA 93 and The West Contract. Jerry Glass has landed. I rest my case. You are entirely correct. I should have said that you got your best contract during ALPA's tenure. It's a shame that USAPA couldn't negotiate a good contract during USAirway's recent run of record profits.
Where did you guys learn to do math? I have corrected this false statement before. The east is not going to hire 20-30 a month. That would be 240-360 per year. Parker has been very clear that there is no growth at US Airways. The east NEVER retires 360 per year. 25% of the east list is not flying so you need to discount 25% of the retirements because they are not replaced. This is the next 5 years retirements. Thanks for the good laugh.

I can only think of one pilot who will retire out of the right seat. There's probably a few others I'm not aware of, but of the 250+ retirements at AWA in the timeframe we're talking about, I'd guess at least 240 will be out of the left seat. More than enough for me to upgrade. Separate ops works for me.The west is also going to have retirements.
I agree that would be best, Why don't both sides sit down with Parker and lets work together on getting this done, otherwise this place is toast. What do you think? No more law suits no more fighting!!!Separate ops works for me.
How about you post that reference? Thanks for the good laugh.

Why don't you grow up, act like a man and honor the agreement we made.I agree that would be best, Why don't both sides sit down with Parker and lets work together on getting this done, otherwise this place is toast. What do you think? No more law suits no more fighting!!!
Who are "both sides?"I agree that would be best, Why don't both sides sit down with Parker and lets work together on getting this done, otherwise this place is toast. What do you think? No more law suits no more fighting!!!
That would be a great start. Why don't you grow up, act like a man and honor the agreement we made.
Who would sit down with Parker? The NAC? Do you think that we can get separate contracts too? No separate ops means LOA 93 and C04 for us. Accept the Nicolau or accept LOA 93. It is that simple. That is our separate ops. I am good on C04 until you decide to accept the Nicolau. Are you willing to retire on LOA 93?I agree that would be best, Why don't both sides sit down with Parker and lets work together on getting this done, otherwise this place is toast. What do you think? No more law suits no more fighting!!!
