Uh, it's more like you started the pissing contest. Now you want the moderator to step in on your behalf, and squelch free speech?

Perhaps you should change your name to Patriot Act.

Hey, hey...I admitted my part, but no, my friend, you and the bored, apparently no life AA imposters had just as much to do in the pissing match. So don't EVEN start your crap. Apparently, the moderators like what they see so have at it. I will. Yes, you are free to piss away.

To a lighter subject...Hey Thom, I think the guys over here in the IAM may take a look at other alternatives. Are you guys happy with your current representation? If so, you just might want to sell your fellow bros/sis on why TWU may be better and visa versa with the US guys with IAM. Now is the time to discuss it as a vote will go out. I'm just glad the fa's are the same union. Thats one less thing to concern with.

thom,

Please don't take what I'm about to say as gospel - it's a vague recollection of something posted on the US board a while back and I can't find the original post.

If memory is semi-correct, it was said that "normally" the union with the highest percentage of the combined group is the successor union. Barring something cut and dried written in labor law, however, I would assume that there might be something of a fight between the two unions. When all is said and done, after all, neither one would want to lose members (and the dues they represent).

Jim,

I believe the percentage is 35%. In other words, the union that has at least 65% is declared the bargaining agent for the combined group.

If it is a 60 - 40, or 55- 45 split, etc... then an election will be held between the two unions. If neither union gets at least 50% + 1 vote of the eligble voters, not the actual voters, then the employee group would have no union representation.

Thus the danger of apathy and not voting causing a group to lose their collective bargaining agent.

Does hp have a flight attendant base in LAS?

A very small reserve base mostly to protect the LAS night flights.

You planning on transferring, and exercising your windfall seniority over the HP flight attendants? 🙄

HP what do you want? PhX will be fenced. The Union already said that. If you could have it any way you wanted it but you had to take the merger what would you like. Please don't say staple its just rude.

I guess I don't get an apology or a reply to my response that I do not seek a staple job. Oh well.

No thanks. Although, I love our PHX layover at the (hotel) in Scottsdale, my home is Boston. I've never lived anywhere else and don't plan on moving. I don't care for LAS. Thanks for your concern, though. 😉

thanks jim for imfor. I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me about the iam union? Are they a good union, have they done the work that they said they would do for you? Do the majority of the us workers like iam. If you can give me as much info on that union that would be great. My Union is twu, and I don't have a big problem with the union it's just the guys running it. They have never ran a union befo and I think if they we to stay on if our union would be the one to stay I think that it may be more then they can handle. So once again if anyone at US has any input on their union that would be great. Also has your CEO told you when we might start working on each others planes? thanks phxramper thom

Sorry HP I was away (6 days 2 round trips to Madrid). I didn't mean to imply you wanted a staple job. You just hear alot of that on these boards. What does relative seniority mean. Is it that you want say 1 Hp f/a slotted in for say every 4 U? I don't think anything like that would ever be considered as it would give extra seniority to hp f/a. I would be ok with that for furlough seniority Ie put together a slotted list like that and in the event of a furlough they would use that list. I suggest giving each hp f/a an extra 10years seniority but only for PHX and LAS and only for a fixed period of time. If you transfer east you go date of hire. this should protect you in the west and put you at relative seniority with the rest of U. Also it would not be a fence that would inhibit the growth of PHX. What do you think?

I have explained it elsewhere on the forum, but what it means is that if you are in the 50th percentile at either carrier, you will be in the 50th percentile after the merger. Change the number 50 to any number between 1 and 100.

Do you think it is wise posting the layover hotel for US crew on a public message board?

I see. It sounds nice but it will not happen. I believe date of hire will stand with a fence of some sort around PHX. I don't think the fence will be for very long maybe a few years. To all AFA carriers if this is not what you want please seek change to the bylaws now.

Oh my God, we agree with something!!
You are correct AND this is a breach of security. Nobody outside the perspective airline should know the hotel list.

Which is why HP employees are becoming convinced we will get screwed in this merger and am communicating that to the company. Apparently U employees are not grateful enough at being saved from liquidation. At this point, if the deal fails, I am not going to feel very sorry for some of the U people.
